Zij stellen dat deze waarschuwingen misleidend zijn en rokers ervan zullen weerhouden over te stappen op potentieel levensreddende producten.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">In Kenia zijn talloze waarschuwingen uitgebracht voor e-sigaretten en nicotinezakjes zonder tabak. Deze waarschuwingen beweren op misleidende wijze dat de producten &quot;geen veilig alternatief voor sigaretten&quot; zijn en &quot;mondkanker&quot; veroorzaken.\u201c<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Andere waarschuwingen die voor e-sigaretten worden voorgesteld, luiden: &quot;Waarschuwing: tabaksgebruik is dodelijk.&quot;\u201c<\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u00a0<\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Ondanks dat e-sigaretten geen tabak bevatten, gaan deze waarschuwingen gepaard met buitensporig groteske afbeeldingen die de risico&#039;s van het gebruik van de producten niet accuraat weergeven.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Regelgeving moet feitelijk zijn en de wetenschap achter het product weerspiegelen, waarbij de risico&#039;s ook wetenschappelijk zijn vastgesteld. Rookloze nicotineproducten zonder tabak mogen geen grafische gezondheidswaarschuwingen bevatten, omdat ze daarmee in dezelfde risicocategorie vallen als traditionele sigaretten en tabaksproducten.<\/span><\/p>\n<h4><b>Welk bewijs is er dat nicotineproducten zonder tabak een veiliger alternatief zijn?<\/b><\/h4>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Er bestaat algemene overeenstemming over het feit dat het de duizenden chemische stoffen in tabaksrook zijn die roken zo gevaarlijk maken.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Bij e-sigaretten en nicotinezakjes vindt geen verbranding plaats, wat betekent dat mensen die volledig overstappen van roken op e-sigaretten of nicotinezakjes aanzienlijk minder worden blootgesteld aan giftige stoffen die in verband worden gebracht met kanker, hart- en vaatziekten en beroertes.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Nicotineproducten zonder tabak zijn niet volledig risicovrij, maar ze zijn wel\u00a0<\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.nhs.uk\/better-health\/quit-smoking\/vaping-to-quit-smoking\/vaping-myths-and-the-facts\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">aanzienlijk minder schadelijk dan roken<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">. Nicotine wordt al decennialang beschouwd als een effectief hulpmiddel om rokers te helpen stoppen en staat op de lijst van essenti\u00eble geneesmiddelen van de Wereldgezondheidsorganisatie in de vorm van nicotinevervangende therapie\u00ebn zoals pleisters, kauwgom en sprays.<\/span><\/p>\n<h4><b>Wat gebeurt er als de voorstellen voor grafische gezondheidswaarschuwingen niet worden aangepast?<\/b><\/h4>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">De vrees bestaat dat de huidige voorstellen om grafische gezondheidswaarschuwingen op nicotinevrije producten te plaatsen, rokers zullen misleiden over de risico&#039;s van nicotinealternatieven en hen ervan zullen weerhouden over te stappen. Als dit gebeurt, gaat de kans om levens van rokers te redden verloren. Zoals de World Vapers&#039; Alliance uitlegde in haar rapport. <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/worldvapersalliance.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/05\/Open-letter-to-the-Kenyan-Health-Ministry.pdf\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">open brief<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> Volgens het ministerie van Volksgezondheid vormen de grafische gezondheidswaarschuwingen een bedreiging voor de inspanningen om te stoppen met roken die de afgelopen jaren in Kenia zijn geleverd.
