De wijziging verbiedt roken of vapen in de open lucht in de buurt van andere mensen zonder hun uitdrukkelijke toestemming, mits de afstand minder dan vijf meter bedraagt.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><b>Michael Landl, directeur van de World Vapers&#039; Alliance<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, Hij legde uit dat deze maatregel de bevolking juist schade zal berokkenen in plaats van te beschermen en bovendien onuitvoerbaar zal zijn:<\/span><\/p>\n<p><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u201cEr bestaat geen wetenschappelijke basis voor \u2018passief vapen\u2019, waardoor een verbod op vapen in de open lucht omwille van de volksgezondheid volkomen onlogisch is. Door vapen gelijk te stellen aan roken wordt de misvatting alleen maar versterkt dat ze vergelijkbare risico\u2019s met zich meebrengen, waardoor rokers worden ontmoedigd om over te stappen op een minder schadelijk alternatief. Bovendien, hoe zou zo\u2019n 5-meterregel \u00fcberhaupt gehandhaafd kunnen worden? Dit is niets meer dan een slecht doordachte publiciteitsstunt van de gemeente, die ernstige negatieve gevolgen kan hebben.\u201d<\/span><\/i><\/p>\n<p><b>Alberto G\u00f3mez Hern\u00e1ndez, beleidsmanager van de World Vapers&#039; Alliance<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> toegevoegd:<\/span><\/p>\n<p><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u201cHet is volstrekt absurd om vapen en roken met elkaar gelijk te stellen, vooral als het gaat om de regulering van rookvrije zones en buitenruimtes. Terwijl de rook van traditionele sigaretten schadelijk is voor de mensen in de omgeving van de roker, is de damp van e-sigaretten vrijwel onschadelijk voor de mensen in de buurt van de gebruiker.
