Hoewel er al een aantal verstandige regels voor e-sigaretten van kracht waren, gaat de Portugese regering met de nieuw voorgestelde beperkingen mogelijk een stap te ver.<\/h4>\n

De nieuw wetsontwerp<\/a> Wetsvoorstel nr. 88\/XV wil de beperkingen voor rookvrije zones uitbreiden naar e-sigaretten, waardoor vapen verboden wordt in openbare ruimtes waar roken niet is toegestaan. Experts op het gebied van tabaksschadebeperking (THR) stellen dat dergelijke maatregelen de inspanningen ondermijnen van ex-rokers die zijn overgestapt op e-sigaretten om te stoppen met roken. Het wetsvoorstel beoogt ook strengere regelgeving op te leggen aan de verkoop van e-sigaretten, waaronder een verbod op online verkoop.<\/p>\n

A GSTHR<\/a> Uit de feitenpagina blijkt dat er ongeveer 8.300 vapers in Portugal zijn. Tot nu toe waren nicotinehoudende e-sigaretten toegestaan, wat resulteerde in een prevalentie van vapen onder volwassenen van 0,091 TP4T. De producten waren al gereguleerd, met een verkoopbeperking tot personen van 18 jaar en ouder, en de verpakking moest gezondheidswaarschuwingen bevatten en specifieke eisen stellen aan het nicotinegehalte.<\/p>\n

Hoewel e-sigaretten zonder recept verkrijgbaar zijn, gelden er al wel beperkingen voor het gebruik ervan in openbare ruimtes. Vapen in openbare binnenruimtes en bepaalde buitenruimtes is verboden om niet-gebruikers te beschermen tegen passief dampen. Ook reclame voor en promotie van e-sigarettenproducten zijn aan beperkingen onderworpen om te voorkomen dat ze aantrekkelijk worden voor jongeren.<\/p>\n
