De Deense overheid introduceert een pakket van 30 maatregelen om het nicotine- en alcoholgebruik onder jongeren terug te dringen. De plannen omvatten onder meer het verhogen van de belastingen op nicotineproducten en een verbod op smaakstoffen.<\/p>\n

Voorstanders zijn ontzet over de maatregelen, die genomen worden ondanks het feit dat andere Scandinavische landen juist enkele van 's werelds grootste successen op het gebied van tabakschadebeperking hebben geboekt.<\/p>\n

Verdere maatregelen, overeengekomen door de regeringscoalitiepartners en aangekondigd<\/a> De maatregelen die het ministerie van Volksgezondheid in november heeft aangekondigd, omvatten onder meer hogere straffen voor illegale verkoop; het beperken van de beschikbaarheid van tabak, nicotine en alcohol; en het cre\u00ebren van meer rook- en dampvrije omgevingen.<\/p>\n

\u201c"Het gebruik van tabak, nicotine en alcohol door kinderen en jongeren neemt zorgwekkend toe en ondanks duidelijke leeftijdsgrenzen voor de verkoop is het voor minderjarigen tegenwoordig veel te gemakkelijk om aan deze producten te komen", aldus Sophie Lohde, minister van Binnenlandse Zaken en Volksgezondheid, in een verklaring van de regering.
