Volgens de World Vapers&#039; Alliance baseren deze besluitvormers hun beleid op &quot;desinformatie&quot; en &quot;een diepgewortelde vooringenomenheid ten aanzien van schadebeperking&quot;. De Alliance heeft ook kritiek geuit op Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus, directeur-generaal van de Wereldgezondheidsorganisatie (WHO), omdat hij vapen afkeurde en ontkende dat het bijdraagt aan schadebeperking.<\/h4>\n<p>De SANT (Subcommissie Volksgezondheid) hield een hoorzitting over \u201c<i>Het voorkomen van niet-overdraagbare ziekten<\/i>\u201d&quot;om zich op 1 juni te concentreren op mogelijke oplossingen.&quot;.<\/p>\n<p>Aangezien nicotinegebruik een van de belangrijkste onderwerpen van de discussie is, wordt duidelijk dat er nog steeds veel misinformatie en diepgewortelde vooroordelen bestaan ten aanzien van schadebeperking onder de EU-besluitvormers, aldus Michael Landl, directeur van de World Vapers&#039; Alliance, een vereniging die beweert de stem van vapers wereldwijd te versterken.<\/p>\n<p>\u201c<i>Hoewel niet-overdraagbare ziekten, zoals hart- en vaatziekten, chronische longaandoeningen en kanker, de hoeksteen van de EU-agenda voor de volksgezondheid zouden moeten vormen, is het ook cruciaal om op bewijs en wetenschap gebaseerde benaderingen na te streven. We moeten de daadwerkelijke schade verminderen en niet zozeer het nicotinegebruik zelf bestrijden. De echte bedreiging voor de volksgezondheid komt van sigarettenroken. Alternatieve producten zoals snus, e-sigaretten en nicotinezakjes verminderen door roken veroorzaakte ziekten, omdat ze rokers effectief helpen te stoppen.
