Veel vapers eisen dat hun stem gehoord wordt door beleidsmakers en volksgezondheidsfunctionarissen. Helaas is dat in de praktijk vaak niet het geval. Zelfs online anti-vapingactivisten negeren meestal de stortvloed aan reacties onder hun berichten en weigeren in gesprek te gaan met consumenten en voorstanders van vapen. Het zou het hele debat verrijken als tegenstanders van vapen bereid waren om meer in gesprek te gaan en niet langer de confrontatie met voorstanders en consumenten zouden afwijzen.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Het gebrek aan uitwisseling is niet de schuld van het kamp dat voor schadebeperking pleit. De meeste vapers zouden best bereid zijn om met mensen als Bloomberg in debat te gaan. Helaas is de kans dat dit gebeurt minimaal.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Daarom hebben we ChatGPT gevraagd een hypothetisch debat te simuleren tussen een tegenstander en een voorstander van vapen. Zie het resultaat hieronder. Wat vind je ervan? Zou een discussie in de praktijk er vergelijkbaar uitzien?\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Zelfs ChatGPT haalt de ontkrachte gatewaytheorie aan, dus dat klopt helemaal. <\/span>studie<\/span><\/a> Uit een onderzoek van Kevin Tan, Jordan P. Davis, Douglas C. Smith en Wang Yang uit 2020 bleek dat adolescenten die over het algemeen minder tevreden waren met hun leven, vaker risicovolle ervaringen opzochten en een grotere neiging hadden om regelmatig illegale middelen te gebruiken. E-sigaretten zijn dus geen opstapje naar roken, maar eerder dat negatieve omstandigheden in het leven van tieners leiden tot verschillende risicovolle gedragingen. Maar geen enkele tegenstander van vapen zou zich daar druk om maken\u2026<\/span><\/p>\n
