Helaas eist het jaarlijks miljoenen levens wereldwijd.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Hieronder vindt u enkele statistieken met betrekking tot roken en de gevolgen ervan:<\/span><\/p>\n<ol>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Wereldwijde rookstatistieken:<\/span>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"2\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.who.int\/news-room\/fact-sheets\/detail\/tobacco\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Volgens de Wereldgezondheidsorganisatie (WHO)<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, Tabaksgebruik eist jaarlijks meer dan 8 miljoen levens.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"2\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Naar schatting zijn er wereldwijd 1,3 miljard rokers.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"2\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Tabaksgebruik is wereldwijd verantwoordelijk voor ongeveer 251.400.000 van alle sterfgevallen door kanker.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Gezondheidsgevolgen van roken:<\/span>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"2\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Roken is wereldwijd een van de belangrijkste oorzaken van vermijdbare ziekten en vroegtijdige sterfgevallen.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"2\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Het is gekoppeld aan diverse gezondheidsproblemen, waaronder longkanker, hartziekten, beroertes, chronische luchtwegaandoeningen (zoals chronische bronchitis en emfyseem) en andere vormen van kanker (waaronder mond-, keel-, slokdarm-, alvleesklier-, blaas-, nier- en baarmoederhalskanker).<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"2\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Passief roken, ook wel meeroken genoemd, kan bij niet-rokers ernstige gezondheidsproblemen veroorzaken, waaronder longkanker en hart- en vaatziekten.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Economische gevolgen van roken:<\/span>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"2\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Aan roken gerelateerde ziekten en vroegtijdige sterfgevallen leggen een aanzienlijke economische last op de samenleving.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"2\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">De zorgkosten voor de behandeling van aan roken gerelateerde ziekten zijn aanzienlijk, wat een zware belasting vormt voor de gezondheidszorgsystemen.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"2\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Daarnaast heeft het productiviteitsverlies als gevolg van ziekte, invaliditeit en vroegtijdig overlijden door roken ook economische gevolgen.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Inspanningen om roken terug te dringen:<\/span>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"2\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Veel landen hebben diverse strategie\u00ebn ge\u00efmplementeerd om het aantal rokers terug te dringen, zoals het verhogen van de belastingen op tabaksproducten, het invoeren van rookvrije beleidsmaatregelen, het voeren van publieke bewustmakingscampagnes en het aanbieden van programma&#039;s voor stoppen met roken.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"2\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Deze inspanningen hebben veelbelovende resultaten opgeleverd wat betreft de daling van het aantal rokers in sommige regio&#039;s.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Met al deze informatie over de gezondheidsproblemen die roken veroorzaakt, zou je denken dat de volksgezondheid overal veiligere alternatieven zoals vapen zou verwelkomen en promoten.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Als de volksgezondheid de voordelen van deze apparaten zou erkennen, zouden rokers wellicht eerder bereid zijn om over te stappen.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Veel levens zouden gered kunnen worden van een leven lang roken en de ziekte en dood die daarmee gepaard gaan.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Niemand zou ooit moeten denken dat deze alternatieven schadelijker of even schadelijk zijn als traditionele sigaretten.
