Om de Zweedse regering aan te sporen haar consumentvriendelijke aanpak ten aanzien van snus, e-sigaretten en nicotinezakjes te verdedigen, hebben consumenten geprotesteerd voor het Zweedse parlement.<\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\">De World Vapers&#039; Alliance (WVA), een internationale consumentenorganisatie voor e-sigaretten, heeft samen met Zweedse consumenten, eigenaren van vapewinkels en lokale groepen die zich inzetten voor schadebeperking, zoals &quot;EU for Snus&quot; en de &quot;New Nicotine Alliance Sweden&quot;, een 5 meter hoge sigaret voor het Zweedse parlement (Riksdag) in Stockholm laten leeglopen. Dit was onderdeel van een groter project.<strong> #BeatSmokingLikeTheSwedes-campagne<\/strong>. De demonstratie benadrukt het succes van Zweden met een verstandig beleid ter vermindering van de schadelijke gevolgen van alternatieve tabaksproducten zoals snus, nicotine pouches en e-sigaretten. Bovendien zullen de demonstranten de Zweedse regering aansporen om haar succesvolle beleid eindelijk te verdedigen tegen aanvallen van de EU en de WHO. Beide instellingen willen het gebruik van e-sigaretten en nicotine pouches verder beperken en snusgebruik blijven demoniseren, waarbij ze het Zweedse antirookwonder en de voorkeur voor nicotinegebruik negeren.<\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\">Zweden staat op het punt het eerste land ter wereld te worden dat een dagelijks rookpercentage van minder dan 51 sigaretten per dag bereikt, een norm die het land kwalificeert als rookvrij land, 17 jaar eerder dan de EU-doelstelling.<\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\">Michael Landl, directeur van de World Vapers&#039; Alliance, zei:<\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\">\u201c<em>Het Zweedse voorbeeld van risicogebaseerd beleid heeft zijn effectiviteit bewezen: in het afgelopen decennium is het aantal rokers in Zweden met 551 ton gedaald en dit jaar staat Zweden op het punt het eerste rookvrije land ter wereld te worden. Kortom, Zweden zijn min of meer gestopt met roken, waardoor de ziektelast tot ongekende niveaus is gedaald. Internationaal staat deze onge\u00ebvenaarde prestatie bekend als de Zweedse ervaring.
