Als gevolg van het recent ingevoerde verbod op e-sigaretten sluiten lokale winkels die de veiligere nicotinealternatieven verkopen hun deuren, waardoor consumenten geen andere keuze meer hebben dan zich tot de zwarte markt te wenden.<\/h4>\n

De gewijzigde Wet ter voorkoming van tabaksrisico's (\u83f8\u5bb3\u9632\u5236\u6cd5) werd eerder dit jaar goedgekeurd en trad op 22 maart in werking. Deze wet verbiedt de verkoop, productie en levering van e-sigaretten en verhoogt de wettelijke leeftijdsgrens voor tabaksgebruik<\/a> van 18 naar 20, en het aandeel tabakswaarschuwingen verhoogd van 35% naar 50% sigarettenpakjes.<\/p>\n

In reactie op het verbod zei Michael Landl, directeur van de World Vapers' Alliance, dat het verbod een ramp voor de volksgezondheid in wording is. Nog geen maand later zijn 25 van de 44 vapewinkels in Kaohsiung City al gesloten, terwijl de rest is overgestapt op de verkoop van andere producten.<\/p>\n

Naast inspecties van fysieke winkels houdt de gezondheidsdienst ook de online verkoop nauwlettend in de gaten. Helaas betekent dit dat duizenden mensen die overgeschakeld<\/a> Mensen die overstappen op e-sigaretten zullen daardoor weer terugkeren naar roken of naar de zwarte markt, waar ze toegang hebben tot ongereguleerde en mogelijk onveilige producten. Een patroon dat is waargenomen in landen met strenge regelgeving.<\/p>\n

Een voorbeeld hiervan is Australi\u00eb, waar, als gevolg van de beperkingen op de verkoop van e-sigaretten die vorig jaar werden ingevoerd, e-sigarettenproducten zeer moeilijk verkrijgbaar zijn en vaker wel dan niet via illegale kanalen worden verkregen. News.co.au had onlangs gemeld<\/a> Dat veel tabakswinkels in Australi\u00eb nog steeds wegwerp-e-sigaretten onder de toonbank verkopen, terwijl bezorgdiensten naar verluidt gemakkelijk te bereiken zijn via sociale media.<\/p>\n
