In het licht van de aanstaande herziening van de EU-richtlijn inzake tabaksproducten en de implementatie van het Portugese plan ter vermindering van kanker (ENLCC), heeft de World Vapers' Alliance (WVA) Portugal een plan voorgelegd om het sigarettengebruik te bestrijden.<\/h5>\n

De 7-stappenplan<\/a> werd gepresenteerd door de WVA, samen met hun Portugese partners Associa\u00e7\u00e3o Portuguesa de Vaporizadores (APORVAP) en Ohms do Vapor. Het bevat de volgende aanbevelingen:<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

    \n
  1. De duidelijke betrokkenheid van Portugal bij het concept van tabaksschadebeperking<\/a>.<\/li>\n
  2. Het promoten van vapen als hulpmiddel bij het stoppen met roken.<\/li>\n
  3. Sluit vapen uit van de beperkingen voor rookvrije zones.<\/li>\n
  4. Zie af van het opleggen van hogere belastingen op vapenproducten en verlaag de buitensporige belasting op e-vloeistoffen zo snel mogelijk.<\/li>\n
  5. Verwerp smaakverboden en beperk de keuzevrijheid in nicotinegehaltes voor e-vloeistoffen niet.<\/li>\n
  6. Houd vapen beschikbaar voor volwassenen, maar hanteer leeftijdsbeperkingen om gebruik door adolescenten te voorkomen.<\/li>\n
  7. Het bevorderen van de vermindering van de schadelijke gevolgen van tabaksgebruik binnen de EU-instellingen en -wetgeving.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

    Michael Landl, directeur van WVA, moedigt Portugal aan om een voortrekkersrol te spelen in de vermindering van tabaksgerelateerde schade. "Roken is verantwoordelijk voor meer dan 13.000 doden<\/a> In Portugal neemt het aantal kankergevallen elk jaar toe. Verschillende methoden zijn effectief gebleken bij het stoppen met roken, en vapen is tot nu toe het meest succesvolle middel gebleken.
