Tegelijkertijd hebben traditionele antirookmaatregelen, zoals tabaksaccijnzen, reclame- en marketingverboden en hoge belastingen, tot nu toe slechts een beperkt effect gehad. Hoewel prijzenswaardig, hebben deze beleidsmaatregelen duidelijk niet de gewenste resultaten opgeleverd, gezien het feit dat er in de EU nog steeds meer dan 80 miljoen actieve rokers zijn en er jaarlijks bijna 700.000 doden vallen als gevolg van rokersgerelateerde ziekten.<\/strong><\/h4>\n<p>Omdat het traditionele beleid er niet in is geslaagd dit schrikbarend hoge aantal terug te dringen, zijn er nieuwe innovaties op de markt gekomen, zoals vapen, die de potentie hebben om miljoenen levens te redden. <strong>Met consumentvriendelijke regelgeving voor e-sigaretten, <\/strong><strong><a href=\"https:\/\/consumerchoicecenter.org\/from-smoking-to-vaping\/\">19 miljoen rokers zouden kunnen overstappen op vapen.<\/a><\/strong><strong> in Europa \u2013 een minder schadelijk alternatief voor 95%<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<h4><strong>Nieuwe wetenschappelijke bewijzen worden door de EU genegeerd.<\/strong><\/h4>\n<p>Nog maar vorige week, de <a href=\"https:\/\/www.gov.uk\/government\/publications\/nicotine-vaping-in-england-2022-evidence-update\/nicotine-vaping-in-england-2022-evidence-update-summary\"><strong>nieuw bewijs<\/strong> beoordeling<\/a> van het Engelse Office of Health Improvement and Disparities (de opvolger van Public Health England) concludeerde dat <strong>\u201c&quot;Vapen brengt slechts een fractie van de risico&#039;s van roken met zich mee.&quot;\u201d <\/strong>en dat de blootstelling aan kankerverwekkende stoffen, ademhalingstoxische stoffen en aan hart- en vaatziekten gerelateerde toxische stoffen &quot;aanzienlijk lager&quot; is in vergelijking met roken.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Helaas moedigen de EU, en met name de Europese Commissie, het gebruik van e-sigaretten als methode voor risicobeperking nog steeds niet aan, in tegenstelling tot het Verenigd Koninkrijk.<\/strong>. Verschillende beleidsvoorstellen die in Brussel circuleren, zouden schadelijke gevolgen hebben voor de volksgezondheid en negeren wetenschappelijk bewijs en de ervaringen van consumenten.<\/p>\n<p><strong>De smaken van e-sigaretten zijn belangrijk om het aantal rokers terug te dringen.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Uit onderzoek is gebleken dat <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/academic.oup.com\/ntr\/article\/22\/10\/1831\/5843872?login=false\">tweederde van de vapers<\/a><\/strong><strong> Gebruik tabaksvrije smaken om te stoppen met roken.<\/strong> en zijn <a href=\"https:\/\/pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov\/32501490\/\">230% heeft een grotere kans om te stoppen.<\/a> Op deze manier. Daarom mag de belangrijke rol van smaken bij het stoppen met roken niet worden verwaarloosd.<\/p>\n<p>Alleen in de EU zagen we meerdere <strong>pogingen om smaken voor e-sigaretten te verbieden of te reguleren<\/strong>. Litouwen, Estland, Denemarken, Hongarije en enkele andere landen hebben gearomatiseerde dranken al verboden. En hoewel er een sprankje hoop was met de Zweedse regering, heeft zij uiteindelijk... <a href=\"https:\/\/www.vapingpost.com\/2022\/06\/27\/the-swedish-parliament-votes-against-the-ban-on-vape-flavours\/\">het smaakverbod afwijzen<\/a>, de van vorig jaar \u201c<a href=\"https:\/\/health.ec.europa.eu\/system\/files\/2022-02\/eu_cancer-plan_en_0.pdf\">Europees plan om kanker te bestrijden<\/a>\u201d&quot;, dat als leidraad zal dienen voor de actualisering van de Tabaksproductenrichtlijn (TPD), liet de deur open voor een verbod op smaakstoffen.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Het beperken van gearomatiseerde dranken maakt het voor rokers moeilijker om te stoppen.<\/strong> en brengt de moeizaam behaalde vooruitgang van consumenten die zijn overgestapt van gevaarlijkere sigaretten in gevaar.
