Tegelijkertijd staat de overheid op het punt veel vapers terug naar het roken te drijven door smaakstoffen te verbieden. Vapen is <a href=\"https:\/\/tobaccocontrol.bmj.com\/content\/27\/1\/10\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" data-saferedirecturl=\"https:\/\/www.google.com\/url?q=https:\/\/tobaccocontrol.bmj.com\/content\/27\/1\/10&amp;source=gmail&amp;ust=1665145744749000&amp;usg=AOvVaw1Ynp6nNG_XAQqGowtdSCCR\">Het is bewezen dat het de kankercijfers verlaagt.<\/a> In vergelijking met roken is de overheid echter vastbesloten dit beleid door te zetten, ondanks de waarschuwing van de IKNL.<\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\">Het IKNL voorspelt dat in 2032 1,4 miljoen mensen de diagnose kanker zullen hebben gekregen. Dit komt overeen met 7,51 TP4T van de verwachte bevolking van 18,5 miljoen in 2032. Volgens het agentschap is het terugdringen van het aantal rokers een van de belangrijkste maatregelen om dit te voorkomen. Volgens de World Vapers&#039; Alliance kan dit alleen worden bereikt door tabakschadebeperking volledig te omarmen en rokers actief aan te moedigen over te stappen op minder schadelijke alternatieven zoals vapen.<\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\">Michael Landl, directeur van de World Vapers&#039; Alliance, zei:<\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\">\u201c1,4 miljoen kankergevallen in 2032 is een alarmerende voorspelling, en we moeten er alles aan doen om dit te voorkomen. Helaas helpt de overheid niet mee met haar plan om smaakstoffen in e-sigaretten te verbieden. Zo&#039;n verbod zou 260.000 Nederlandse e-sigaretgebruikers terug naar het roken kunnen drijven. E-sigaretten zijn aanzienlijk minder schadelijk en smaakstoffen zijn essentieel voor het stoppen met roken. E-sigaretten moeten, net als in het Verenigd Koninkrijk, omarmd worden in plaats van bestreden. De overheid moet eindelijk naar de wetenschap en de consumenten luisteren, anders dreigt een ramp voor de volksgezondheid.\u201d<\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\">Vorige week werd de tweede consultatie over een mogelijk verbod op smaakstoffen afgesloten, wat opnieuw aantoont dat consumenten zich zorgen maken over de negatieve gevolgen van een dergelijk verbod. De consultatie ontving meer dan 1500 reacties, ondanks dat het al de tweede consultatie over dit onderwerp was.<\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\">\u201cHet verbieden van smaakjes zou vapers terugdrijven naar roken en huidige rokers ontmoedigen om te stoppen. Vapen heeft wereldwijd tientallen miljoenen mensen geholpen te stoppen met roken en is 95% minder schadelijk dan sigaretten.
