Dit wetsvoorstel zou de verkoop, levering, ruil, verstrekking of het weggeven van gearomatiseerde vloeibare nicotineproducten aan wie dan ook hebben verboden. Volwassen vapers konden opgelucht ademhalen toen gouverneur Ron DeSantis deze wetgeving vetode. Hij erkende dat &quot;gearomatiseerde e-sigaretten een minder risicovol alternatief voor sigaretten zijn&quot; en ging zelfs zo ver om te zeggen dat deze &quot;wetgeving er vrijwel zeker toe zou leiden dat meer mensen weer sigaretten gaan roken&quot; of erger nog, &quot;anderen naar een gevaarlijke zwarte markt zou drijven&quot;.\u201c<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Wat er sindsdien is gebeurd, is monumentaal. Niet alleen is het gebruik van e-sigaretten onder jongeren afgenomen, maar ook het gebruik van gewone sigaretten onder jongeren.\u00a0 <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Volgens gegevens van de\u00a0<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Tabaksonderzoek onder jongeren in Florida<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">In 2021 gaf slechts 12,61 TP4T van de middelbare scholieren in Florida aan ooit traditionele sigaretten te hebben gebruikt, en slechts 32,21 TP4T had e-sigaretten geprobeerd. Onder leerlingen van de onderbouw van de middelbare school had 7,21 TP4T traditionele sigaretten geprobeerd en 16,21 TP4T had e-sigaretten geprobeerd.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Vergelijkbare resultaten blijven aantonen dat het verbieden van veiligere alternatieven en smaken niet helpt om het gebruik onder jongeren terug te dringen. Andere staten zoals <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/cdphe.colorado.gov\/healthy-kids-colorado-survey-dashboard\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Colorado<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> En <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Arizona<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> Ook daar is sprake van een daling, waarbij Arizona de laagste percentages tabaks- en vapegebruik onder jongeren ooit registreert.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Nu er steeds meer gegevens zijn die het idee van slimme regelgeving en de bescherming van schadebeperking als een manier om van sigaretten af te komen ondersteunen, waarom blijven volksvertegenwoordigers dan toch proberen om smaakverboden erdoorheen te drukken?<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Een verbod werkt niet; ongereguleerde zwarte markten zullen floreren dankzij vapers die op zoek gaan naar alternatieven wanneer hun vapewinkel sluit.
