Dit toont opnieuw aan dat consumenten zich zorgen maken over de negatieve gevolgen van een dergelijk verbod. De consultatie ontving meer dan 1.500 reacties, ondanks dat het al de tweede consultatie over dit onderwerp was.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">De overheid heeft vorig jaar al een consultatie gehouden, waaruit bleek dat 98% respondenten zich tegen het verbod uitspraken. Helaas heeft de overheid deze stemmen genegeerd en het verbod op smaakstoffen doorgevoerd. Oorspronkelijk zou de wet op 1 juli 2022 ingaan. Door protesten van vapers en technische problemen met de oorspronkelijke wetgeving is dit echter uitgesteld. <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/vaping360.com\/vape-news\/113832\/dutch-flavor-ban-postponed-until-next-year\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">uitgesteld tot het einde van dit jaar<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">In een reactie op de consultatie zei Michael Landl, directeur van de World Vapers&#039; Alliance (WVA):\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u201cDe Nederlandse regering heeft voor de tweede keer een duidelijke boodschap ontvangen: het is tijd om dit verschrikkelijke idee van smaakverboden te laten varen en verder te gaan. Uit respect voor de burgers en op basis van wetenschappelijk bewijs is het afschaffen van het smaakverbod de enige mogelijke weg vooruit. Iets anders zou een schande zijn. Twee consultaties houden en die vervolgens negeren zou een schande zijn.\u201d\u00a0<\/span><\/i><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">De belangrijkste boodschap van de twee consultaties is dat dit voorgestelde verbod zeer impopulair is en zeer negatieve gevolgen voor de volksgezondheid zou hebben. Het verbod dreigt de samenleving te stimuleren. <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/consumerchoicecenter.org\/why-vape-flavors-matter\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">260.000 Nederlandse vapers stappen weer over op sigaretten.<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> en zou huidige rokers een cruciale kans ontnemen om voorgoed te stoppen met hun dodelijke gewoonte.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u201cSmaken zijn essentieel omdat ze de kans op stoppen met roken meer dan verdubbelen in vergelijking met mensen die e-sigaretten zonder smaak gebruiken. Het wegnemen van smaken zou e-sigaretgebruikers alleen maar aanmoedigen om terug te keren naar roken en huidige rokers ontmoedigen om te stoppen. Vapen heeft wereldwijd tientallen miljoenen mensen geholpen om te stoppen met roken en is 95% minder schadelijk dan sigaretten. Gezien de overweldigende respons op de publieke raadpleging moet de overheid het voorgestelde verbod op e-sigaretsmaken laten vallen om een ramp voor de volksgezondheid te voorkomen.\u201d<\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> voegde Landl eraan toe.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Tijdens het overleg organiseerde de WVA een lichtshow in Amsterdam om het belang van e-sigaretaroma&#039;s onder de aandacht te brengen. Parallel aan het lopende debat, <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/worldvapersalliance.com\/nl_be\/flavours-matter-260-000-dutch-lives-at-stake-if-vaping-flavours-banned\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">De WVA kwam ook bijeen in Den Haag.<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> Eerder dit jaar riep de WVA beleidsmakers op zich te verzetten tegen een verbod op smaakstoffen in e-sigaretten. De WVA plaatste een kunstinstallatie voor het Nederlandse parlement met de simpele boodschap: &quot;Smaakstoffen helpen rokers te stoppen&quot;. In de jaren 2021 en 2022 verstuurden de WVA en haar leden tientallen brieven naar Nederlandse politici en beleidsmakers om hen te informeren over de schadelijke gevolgen van een mogelijk verbod op smaakstoffen in het land.
