Ik gebruikte ongeveer twee weken lang een e-liquid met tabaksmaak. Toen veranderde er iets met mijn smaak en reukvermogen. Ik wilde niets meer dat me aan roken deed denken. Sterker nog, ik kon de smaak niet meer verdragen. Alles wat me aan roken deed denken, sprak me niet meer aan. Ik stapte snel over op een e-liquid met pi\u00f1a colada-smaak. Daarna probeerde ik andere smaken zoals aardbei-perzik, koffie, bosbessen-donut en nog veel meer. Deze ervaring was leuk voor me, omdat het vapen interessant voor me hield en de mogelijkheden eindeloos waren. Hierdoor werd vapen niet alleen een manier om definitief te stoppen met roken, maar het zorgde er ook voor dat ik er zelfs niet meer aan dacht om ooit nog te gaan roken.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Gezien het feit dat het gebruik onder jongeren blijft dalen en het argument dat &quot;smaken kinderen aantrekken&quot; niet langer opgaat, waarom wil de FDA dan niet toegeven dat deze &quot;crisis&quot; voorbij is?<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Tieners experimenteren nu eenmaal; zo is het altijd al geweest. Als dat niet zo was, had ik op mijn vijftiende nooit een sigaret opgestoken of de wijn van mijn moeder geprobeerd. Waarom volwassenen straffen die deze producten gebruiken om van roken af te blijven, alleen maar om &quot;de jeugd te redden&quot;, terwijl de focus in werkelijkheid niet zou moeten liggen op het aantal jongeren dat vapet, maar op de afname van roken onder jongeren?.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">De cijfers van de volksgezondheid zijn gebaseerd op jongeren die eens in de 30 dagen een e-sigaret proberen. E\u00e9n keer is al genoeg om als vaper te worden beschouwd. Ze vragen duidelijk op een manier die de volksgezondheid in staat stelt deze cijfers op te blazen om ze aan te passen aan het verhaal dat zij voor ogen hebben.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Naarmate de cijfers blijven dalen, rijst de hamvraag: hoe kan de volksgezondheid deze redenering ooit nog volhouden om smaakstoffen of vapen in het algemeen te verbieden? Hoe kunnen ze deze gegevens blijven gebruiken als ze niet langer in het verhaal passen?<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Zullen we ooit in staat zijn om de kloof tussen daadwerkelijke volwassen gebruikers en de volksgezondheid in de VS te overbruggen en tot een compromis te komen dat iedereen ten goede komt?<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Ik hoop dat we dat op een dag zullen doen.
