Dit initiatief dringt er bij de commissie op aan de verkoop van tabak en nicotineproducten te verbieden aan iedereen die na 2010 is geboren.<\/h5>\n<p>In een persbericht over deze aankondiging zei Michael Landl, directeur van de World Vapers&#039; Alliance (WVA), dat dit initiatief een duidelijk voorbeeld is van de wijdverspreide misinformatie over vapen. &quot;Dit initiatief laat de wijdverspreide misinformatie over verschillende nicotineproducten zien. We kunnen geen uniforme aanpak hanteren voor zeer verschillende producten. Bijna alle schade van roken komt van de duizenden andere chemicali\u00ebn in tabaksrook, niet van nicotine. Een verbod zal alleen maar levens kosten.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Bovendien, zo voegde hij eraan toe, zet de WVA vraagtekens bij de praktische uitvoerbaarheid van een verkoopverbod dat gekoppeld is aan het geboortejaar. \u201cHoe zou dit in de praktijk moeten werken? Over een paar jaar zouden winkels de identiteitsbewijzen van 50-jarigen moeten controleren. Dit gaat niet werken. Die regels zullen genegeerd worden, of ze zullen een enorme zwarte markt cre\u00ebren. Beide uitkomsten zijn schadelijk voor de volksgezondheid. Afgezien van de onpraktische aard, zijn generatiegebonden verboden mogelijk illegaal in Europa, omdat ze indruisen tegen een gelijke en eerlijke behandeling van EU-burgers \u2013 een pijler van het Verdrag van Lissabon.
