Alweer een mythe over vapen ontkracht \u2013 dit keer door wetenschappers.<\/h4>\n

Zoek op Google naar het woord 'vaping' en je kunt er zeker van zijn dat bovenaan de zoekresultaten ongefundeerde tabloidartikelen staan over hoe vapen ertoe leidt dat meer jongeren beginnen met roken.<\/p>\n

De vapengemeenschap is enorm gefrustreerd door alle negatieve media-aandacht voor e-sigaretten en is er stellig van overtuigd dat, als vapen al ergens toe leidt, het wel tot stoppen met roken is en dat het daarom alom geprezen zou moeten worden als hulpmiddel om te stoppen met roken.<\/p>\n

Daarom zijn we blij met het nieuwe onderzoek van University College London, gepubliceerd in het hoog aangeschreven tijdschrift New Scientist, dat de theorie dat e-sigaretten een natie van jonge nicotineverslaafden cre\u00ebren, grotendeels ontkracht. In een recente analyse van trends in het gebruik van sigaretten en e-sigaretten onder 16- tot 24-jarigen in Engeland, wordt categorisch gesteld dat vapen geen opstapje lijkt te zijn naar het roken van tabak.<\/p>\n

Is het genetisch bepaald? Of komt het door groepsdruk?<\/h5>\n

Hoewel we erkennen dat er studies zijn die aantonen dat tieners die drugs gebruiken... vape mod kits<\/a> Hoewel het rapport stelt dat mensen met een grotere kans op roken niet per se hoeven te roken, bewijst dat niet dat het eerste gedrag het tweede veroorzaakt. Hoofdauteur van het rapport, professor Lion Shahab van UCL, zei: "Het zou kunnen dat er een gemeenschappelijke kwetsbaarheid is die dit verband verklaart. Dat zou bijvoorbeeld kunnen komen doordat er een genetische aanleg is om nieuwe dingen uit te proberen, of doordat er omgevingsdruk is om dingen uit te proberen."\u201c<\/p>\n
