MANILA, FILIPIJNEN, 28-07-2022 \u2013 Op maandag 25 juli, de zogenaamde De wetgeving betreffende e-sigaretten is aangenomen.<\/a>. De maatregel heeft tot doel de import, productie, verkoop, verpakking, distributie, het gebruik en de communicatie van damp- en verhitte tabaksproducten te reguleren.<\/p>\n

Belangrijk is dat het wetsvoorstel zich richt op het opleggen van leeftijdsbeperkingen boven de 18 jaar, zodat volwassen rokers toegang hebben tot niet-brandbare alternatieven voor roken.<\/p>\n

Liza Katsiashvili, communitymanager bij World Vapers' Alliance, zei:<\/p>\n

\u201c"Terwijl de meeste beleidsmakers verkeerd ge\u00efnformeerd zijn en zich tegen vapen verzetten, hebben de Filipijnen de juiste weg bewandeld door vapen te omarmen als een effectieve innovatie voor risicobeperking die levens redt. Andere landen zouden dit voorbeeld moeten volgen en een verstandig vapenbeleid moeten voeren om de volksgezondheid van miljoenen consumenten wereldwijd te verbeteren."\u201d<\/p>\n

Het wetsvoorstel, ingediend door senator Ralph G. Recto, geeft aan dat de prioriteit van de staat ligt bij het toepassen van een strategie gericht op schadebeperking, met name het stoppen met roken voor volwassen gebruikers. Deze verklaring is een enorme overwinning voor de vapende gemeenschap in de Filipijnen.<\/p>\n

In de Filipijnen sterven jaarlijks bijna 100.000 rokers aan de gevolgen van roken.<\/a> Het vooruitstrevende volksgezondheidsbeleid dat zich richt op veiliger nicotinegebruik biedt de kans om ziekte- en sterftecijfers te verlagen en zo de levenskwaliteit van duizenden mensen in de Filipijnen te verbeteren.<\/p>\n

Verschillende lokale verenigingen voor vapers hebben campagne gevoerd ter ondersteuning van de wetgeving rondom e-sigaretten. Onder hen bevinden zich WVA-partners van de Nicotine Consumption Union of the Philippines (NCUP). Anton Israel, de oprichter van de NCUP, zei:<\/p>\n

\u201c"Vapers in de Filipijnen vieren een enorme overwinning! Wij geloven dat de wetgeving rond e-sigaretten een strategie voor de gezondheidszorg is die consumenten de keuzevrijheid biedt en rokers de mogelijkheid geeft om te genieten van veiligere alternatieven voor tabak. De beslissing van de overheid om vapen aan te moedigen in plaats van te ontmoedigen, zal enorme voordelen voor de volksgezondheid in het land opleveren."\u201d<\/p>\n

De World Vapers' Alliance steunt het besluit van de Filipijnse senaat om levensreddende innovatie te omarmen en de toegang tot minder schadelijke nicotineproducten voor consumenten te garanderen.
