Europese belangenorganisaties voor e-sigaretten juichen het besluit van de EU-Europarlementari\u00ebrs toe om tabakschadebeperking te erkennen als een middel in de strijd tegen kanker, maar blijven bezorgd over de negatieve perceptie van producten met smaakjes.<\/h5>\n

Vandaag heeft de Speciale Commissie voor de Bestrijding van Kanker (BECA) gestemd over de amendementen en het ontwerp van het rapport over de bestrijding van kanker. De auteurs van het rapport stellen uiteraard dat roken een van de belangrijkste risicofactoren is. belangrijkste oorzaken van kanker<\/a> En gelukkig beschouwen zij, in tegenstelling tot de Wereldgezondheidsorganisatie (WHO), het beperken van de schadelijke gevolgen van tabaksgebruik als een effectief middel om het aantal rokers terug te dringen.<\/p>\n

In een persbericht over deze ontwikkeling verwelkomde de Independent European Vape Alliance (IEVA) de erkenning van vapen als een hulpmiddel om te stoppen met roken<\/a> In het rapport wordt echter de zorgwekkende constatering gedaan dat gearomatiseerde producten nog steeds als een bedreiging in plaats van een kans worden beschouwd, en wordt een mogelijk verbod genoemd. "Rapporten van het Europees Parlement zoals deze zijn noodzakelijkerwijs een compromis. IEVA merkt op dat de verscheidenheid aan smaken een van de belangrijkste redenen is voor rokers om over te stappen op e-sigaretten en voor vapers om niet terug te keren naar roken. Een verbod op smaken zou een van de belangrijkste voordelen van de e-sigaret ten opzichte van de tabakssigaret tenietdoen: een verbeterde smaak", aldus IEVA-voorzitter Dustin Dahlmann.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe zien ook dat het belang van de e-sigaret voor het stoppen met roken wordt erkend en dat de risico's van vapen in de toekomst nog nauwkeuriger zullen worden afgewogen tegen de risico's van roken. Deze aanpak moet worden voortgezet en mag niet worden ondermijnd door de meeste producten die momenteel op de markt zijn te verbieden.\u201d<\/p>\n
