{"id":1332,"date":"2020-09-24T20:23:57","date_gmt":"2020-09-25T00:23:57","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/worldvapersalliance.com\/?p=1332"},"modified":"2022-05-12T06:21:43","modified_gmt":"2022-05-12T10:21:43","slug":"eu-scientific-advisory-committee-ignores-crucial-evidence-on-vaping","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/worldvapersalliance.com\/nl_be\/eu-scientific-advisory-committee-ignores-crucial-evidence-on-vaping\/","title":{"rendered":"EU-wetenschappelijk adviescomit\u00e9 negeert cruciaal bewijs over vapen"},"content":{"rendered":"<p class=\"\">Gisteren heeft het Wetenschappelijk Comit\u00e9 voor Gezondheid, Milieu en Opkomende Risico&#039;s (SCHEER), <a href=\"https:\/\/ec.europa.eu\/health\/sites\/health\/files\/scientific_committees\/scheer\/docs\/scheer_o_017.pdf\">hebben hun voorlopige mening over e-sigaretten gepubliceerd.<\/a> Twee van de meest absurde beweringen in dit onderzoek zijn dat e-sigaretten mensen niet helpen stoppen met roken en dat ze een opstapje vormen voor jongeren om te beginnen met roken.<\/p>\n<p class=\"\">Het is geen overdrijving om te zeggen dat SCHEER zich heeft ontmaskerd als iemand die cruciale wetenschappelijke bewijzen over vapen en de ervaringen van miljoenen vapers negeert. Het gevolg hiervan is een mening die het risico met zich meebrengt dat een aanzienlijk deel van de 15 miljoen vapers in Europa weer gaat roken, iets wat levens zal kosten.<\/p>\n<p class=\"\">Dit advies is van groot belang, omdat het de Europese Commissie zal bijstaan bij de herziening van de tabaksproductenrichtlijn. De Commissie overweegt namelijk of zij nog meer belemmeringen moet opwerpen voor de toegang tot e-sigaretten.<\/p>\n<p class=\"\">Door wetenschappelijk bewijs van volksgezondheidsinstanties zoals Public Health England, waaruit blijkt dat vapen 95% minder schadelijk is dan roken, te negeren, demoniseert SCHEER vapers zonder andere reden dan vooringenomenheid tegen vapen.<\/p>\n<p class=\"\">In hun conceptadvies stellen ze zelfs dat een niet onbelangrijk deel van het bewijsmateriaal waarop het is gebaseerd &quot;zwak tot matig&quot; is.\u201c<\/p>\n<p class=\"\">Het standpunt van SCHEER over e-sigaretten is wederom een voorbeeld in een lange reeks van regelgevende instanties die vapers negeren, evenals het bewijs en de maatregelen die andere landen nemen om de prevalentie van roken terug te dringen. Zo hebben het Verenigd Koninkrijk en Frankrijk het gebruik van elektronische sigaretten opgenomen in hun jaarlijkse campagnes om te stoppen met roken, gebaseerd op wetenschappelijk bewijs dat vapen mensen kan helpen om te stoppen.<\/p>\n<p class=\"\">De World Vapers&#039; Alliance roept beleidsmakers op om te luisteren naar onze leden, vapers van over de hele wereld, die vertellen hoe vapen hun leven heeft veranderd en vaak zelfs gered.<\/p>\n<p class=\"\">We geven onze strijd tegen roken niet op. We zullen ons onderwerpen aan... <a href=\"https:\/\/ec.europa.eu\/health\/scientific_committees\/consultations\/public_consultations\/scheer_consultation_10_en\">De openbare raadpleging over het advies van SCHEER is nu geopend.,<\/a> en hen in detail uitleggen wat het concrete bewijs is dat vapen een veel minder schadelijk alternatief is voor roken.<\/p>\n<p class=\"\">Het gaat hier niet om absolute waarheden. E-sigaretten zijn veel minder schadelijk dan gewone sigaretten, en dat is de kern van de zaak. Als ideologische overwegingen ertoe leiden dat ex-rokers weer gaan roken, zal dat onnoemelijk veel schade toebrengen aan duizenden mensen in heel Europa.<\/p>\n<p class=\"\">We roepen onze leden op om hun stem als vapers luid en duidelijk te laten horen, zodat beleidsmakers vapen erkennen als het effectieve hulpmiddel om te stoppen met roken.
