Tegelijkertijd nam het gebruik van e-sigaretten toe, wat bewijst dat veel rokers e-sigaretten gebruiken om te stoppen met roken.<\/p>\n<p class=\"\">Toch hebben de media dit geweldige nieuws afgeschilderd als iets om bang voor te zijn. De krantenkoppen misten de kern van de zaak en kozen er wederom voor om de boodschap te verspreiden dat vapen net zo gevaarlijk is als roken.<\/p>\n<p class=\"\">Uit het onderzoek blijkt dat 701.400 Australi\u00ebrs die e-sigaretten gebruiken, dit doen om te stoppen met roken, hun sigarettenconsumptie te verminderen of te voorkomen dat ze weer gaan roken. Zonder e-sigaretten zou een groeiend aantal ex-rokers waarschijnlijk weer zijn begonnen met roken.<\/p>\n<p class=\"\">Maar geen van deze cruciale informatie komt terug in de berichtgeving van de media over het onderzoek. Het uitgebreide bewijsmateriaal dat aantoont dat vapen de meest effectieve manier is om te stoppen met roken (<a href=\"https:\/\/bit.ly\/3fGa9xE\">Britse Medische Vereniging<\/a>,<a href=\"https:\/\/bit.ly\/396CkTQ\">\u00a0Nieuw-Zeelands Ministerie van Volksgezondheid<\/a><a href=\"https:\/\/www.cdc.gov\/tobacco\/basic_information\/e-cigarettes\/about-e-cigarettes.html\">, Amerikaans Centrum voor Ziektebestrijding<\/a>) ontbreekt ook op cruciale wijze in de berichtgeving.<\/p>\n<p class=\"\">De inspanningen van onze partner, Legalise Vaping Australia, in de strijd tegen misinformatie over dit onderwerp zijn enorm geweest. We zijn ervan overtuigd dat veel andere vapers wereldwijd binnenkort met vergelijkbare problemen te maken zullen krijgen als de Australische vapers. Nu vapen in landen over de hele wereld toeneemt ten koste van tabak, zullen nationale onderzoeken een stijging van het aantal vapers blijven aantonen, wat waarschijnlijk zal leiden tot meer misleidende en sensationele krantenkoppen.<\/p>\n<p class=\"\">Het onvermogen om te erkennen dat de toename van het vapen goed nieuws is, is niet iets dat alleen de Australische media vertonen. Dit onvermogen komt wereldwijd voor, waarbij nieuwsmedia nepnieuws verspreiden en paniek zaaien over vapen.<\/p>\n<p class=\"\">Als vapers zijn we gewend aan dergelijke tactieken en weten we dat talloze organisaties en zogenaamde experts een agenda proberen te promoten die roken gelijkstelt aan vapen. Dit leidt er echter toe dat veel vapers voor een moeilijke keuze komen te staan: teruggaan naar sigaretten of proberen door te gaan met vapen, zelfs nu er steeds meer beperkingen worden ingevoerd.<\/p>\n<p class=\"\">De World Vapers Alliance staat klaar om alle vapers te verdedigen en te ondersteunen.<\/p>\n<p class=\"\">Samen verheffen we onze stem tegen misinformatie. Als vapen toeneemt ten koste van tabaksgebruik, dan is er een positief verhaal te vertellen over de volksgezondheid. De media negeren dit cruciale punt wellicht, maar wij zijn hier om de mythes te ontkrachten. Samen telt onze stem.
