{"id":1246,"date":"2020-09-18T20:05:43","date_gmt":"2020-09-19T00:05:43","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/worldvapersalliance.com\/?p=1246"},"modified":"2022-05-10T07:57:48","modified_gmt":"2022-05-10T11:57:48","slug":"unnecessary-and-counterproductive-vaping-regulation-must-be-stopped","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/worldvapersalliance.com\/nl_be\/unnecessary-and-counterproductive-vaping-regulation-must-be-stopped\/","title":{"rendered":"Onnodige en contraproductieve regelgeving rondom e-sigaretten moet worden stopgezet."},"content":{"rendered":"<p class=\"\">De Nederlandse overheid heeft nieuwe plannen aangekondigd die ongetwijfeld nadelig zullen zijn voor vapers en mensen die willen stoppen met roken. Het nieuwste voorstel houdt in dat vapen precies hetzelfde behandeld wordt als tabak, en dat er een verplichting komt voor neutrale verpakkingen van e-sigaretten. Dat betekent dat die lelijke, bruine, neutrale verpakkingen binnenkort wel eens bij een vapeproduct in uw buurt zouden kunnen verschijnen, als u in Nederland woont.<\/p>\n<p class=\"\">Zowel de World Vapers Alliance als ikzelf pleiten al lange tijd voor accurate en op feiten gebaseerde informatie over vapen. Door vapen over \u00e9\u00e9n kam te scheren met andere tabaksproducten, kunnen veel mensen die proberen te stoppen met roken door te vapen, denken dat er geen verschil is tussen de producten \u2013 terwijl vapen juist 95% minder schadelijk is dan sigaretten. Dat zou een vergissing zijn.<\/p>\n<p class=\"\">Toch kunnen we nog steeds iets doen. Wij hebben als World Vapers&#039; Alliance een bijdrage geleverd aan de openbare raadpleging die de Nederlandse overheid over dit onderwerp heeft uitgeschreven. Het consult is mogelijk tot de <strong>einde van vrijdag 18 september.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p class=\"\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.internetconsultatie.nl\/standaardverpakkingen\/reageren\">KLIK HIER OM UW VERKLARING IN TE DIENEN EN UIT TE LEGGEN WAAROM EEN NEUTRALE VERPAKKING EEN FOUT ZOU ZIJN!<\/a><\/p>\n<p class=\"\">TEKST VAN DE INDIENING VAN DE WORLD VAPERS&#039; ALLIANCE<\/p>\n<p class=\"\">**** ************<\/p>\n<p class=\"\"><em>Geachte dames en heren,\u00a0<\/em><\/p>\n<p class=\"\"><em>De plannen om brandbare en niet-brandbare tabaksproducten, samen met e-sigaretten, in dezelfde regelgevingscategorie te plaatsen \u2013 inclusief een verplichting tot neutrale verpakking \u2013 baren de World Vapers&#039; Alliance en de duizenden vapers die zij vertegenwoordigt grote zorgen.\u00a0<\/em><\/p>\n<p class=\"\"><em>Door vapen minder aantrekkelijk te maken voor rokers, worden huidige rokers ontmoedigd om over te stappen op minder schadelijke alternatieven. Het is redelijk om aan te nemen dat beperkingen op de verpakking, waardoor het voor huidige rokers moeilijker wordt om informatie over vapen te verkrijgen, de kans verkleinen dat huidige rokers overstappen op een minder schadelijk alternatief zoals vapen.<\/em><\/p>\n<p class=\"\"><em>Dit zal bijgevolg een nadelig effect hebben op de volksgezondheid in Nederland. Het is zorgwekkend dat een land als Nederland, dat bekendstaat om zijn pragmatisme, zo&#039;n hardhandige aanpak hanteert ten aanzien van vapen.\u00a0<\/em><\/p>\n<p class=\"\"><em>E-sigaretten bevatten vloeistof die wordt verhit en omgezet in damp. E-sigaretten bevatten geen tabak of teer en veel van de giftige stoffen in sigaretten zijn niet aanwezig in e-sigaretten. Daarom moeten ze niet worden behandeld als traditionele tabaksproducten. In 2015 verklaarde Public Health England dat vapen <\/em><a href=\"https:\/\/assets.publishing.service.gov.uk\/government\/uploads\/system\/uploads\/attachment_data\/file\/733022\/Ecigarettes_an_evidence_update_A_report_commissioned_by_Public_Health_England_FINAL.pdf\"><em>95% minder schadelijk<\/em><\/a><em> Het beleid was strenger dan roken en er werd al snel aangeraden dat rokers overstapten op elektronische sigaretten. Landen als Canada en Nieuw-Zeeland volgden dit voorbeeld. Deze landen slaagden erin hun rookcijfers sneller te verlagen dan landen die een restrictievere aanpak ten aanzien van vapen hanteerden. De auteurs van dit artikel stellen dat... <\/em><a href=\"https:\/\/tobaccocontrol.bmj.com\/content\/28\/6\/629\"><em>Amerikaans onderzoek<\/em><\/a><em> De conclusie is dat &quot;het percentage dagelijkse rokers onder degenen die de afgelopen 30 dagen hebben gerookt, ook sneller afnam naarmate vapen gangbaarder werd.&quot;\u201c<\/em><\/p>\n<p class=\"\"><em>We weten dat een <\/em><a href=\"https:\/\/link.springer.com\/article\/10.1007\/s11166-020-09330-9#citeas\"><em>Een hogere prijs voor e-sigarettenproducten leidt tot een toename van het aantal rokers.<\/em><\/a><em>. Het verbieden van smaakstoffen zou ook een nadelig effect hebben. Smaakstoffen spelen een essenti\u00eble rol bij het overstappen van rokers op sigaretten en het voorkomen van roken. <\/em><a href=\"https:\/\/academic.oup.com\/ntr\/advance-article\/doi\/10.1093\/ntr\/ntaa095\/5843872\"><em>Twee derde<\/em><\/a><em> een aanzienlijk deel van de huidige vapers gebruikt een of andere vorm van gearomatiseerde vloeistoffen en onderzoekers bij <\/em><a href=\"https:\/\/pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov\/32501490\/\"><em>Yale concludeerde<\/em><\/a><em> dat vapers die smaakjes gebruiken een grotere kans hebben om te stoppen met roken dan degenen die e-sigaretten met tabaksmaak gebruiken.<\/em><\/p>\n<p class=\"\"><em>Beleid dat vapen promoot, heeft in korte tijd aantoonbaar meer bereikt dan wat wetgevers jarenlang probeerden te bereiken: minder mensen die sigaretten roken.
