{"id":1223,"date":"2020-05-11T18:36:14","date_gmt":"2020-05-11T22:36:14","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/worldvapersalliance.com\/?p=1223"},"modified":"2022-05-09T09:37:51","modified_gmt":"2022-05-09T13:37:51","slug":"why-start-the-wva","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/worldvapersalliance.com\/nl_be\/why-start-the-wva\/","title":{"rendered":"Waarom is de WVA opgericht?"},"content":{"rendered":"<p class=\"\">Toen het Consumer Choice Center mij benaderde met de vraag of ik interesse had om een samenwerkingsverband van vapers op te richten, was mijn eerste reactie: dit is een zeer persoonlijke kwestie.<\/p>\n<p class=\"\">Waarom zou ik publiekelijk aankondigen dat ik net van een gewoonte af ben gekomen die me langzaam aan het kapotmaken was? Maar toen ik wat meer te weten kwam over het politieke debat rondom vapen, besefte ik al snel dat ik me erin moest mengen.<\/p>\n<p class=\"\">Het debat rondom vapen betreft meerdere partijen, van wie sommigen een ernstig misverstand hebben over zowel de wetenschap erachter als over wat het betekent om een vaper te zijn.<\/p>\n<p class=\"\">De komende jaren zullen er belangrijke beslissingen worden genomen over de toekomst van vapen, zowel op mondiaal niveau, nu de WHO overweegt e-sigaretten te reguleren zoals tabak, als met de herziening van de tabaksproductenrichtlijn van de EU.<\/p>\n<p><strong>De WVA vertegenwoordigt vapers \u2013 zowel huidige als toekomstige \u2013 wereldwijd en zal strijden voor hun recht om het meest bekende hulpmiddel tot nu toe \u2013 vapen \u2013 te gebruiken om zich te bevrijden van een tabaksverslaving.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><img fetchpriority=\"high\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-medium wp-image-239 aligncenter\" src=\"http:\/\/wvaold.wpengine.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/12\/2-1-300x297.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"300\" height=\"297\" \/><\/p>\n<p class=\"\">Als de stem van vapers niet gehoord wordt in deze debatten, kan vapen verloren gaan en daarmee ook deze enorme kans voor de volksgezondheid. Zoals je in mijn vorige blog hebt kunnen lezen, heeft vapen een enorme impact op mijn leven gehad. Ik ben niet de enige. Vapen kan miljoenen levens ten goede veranderen en we verdienen beter van onze wetgevers en ambtenaren van de volksgezondheid.<\/p>\n<p class=\"\">Nu we te maken hebben met Covid-19, wordt het internet overspoeld met nog meer misinformatie over vapen. Mensen beweren ten onrechte dat vapen net zo gevaarlijk is als roken (hoewel bewezen is dat het 95% veiliger is) en dat het het coronavirus kan verspreiden (wat wederom niet waar blijkt te zijn).<\/p>\n<p class=\"\">Pragmatisten zoals ik betogen dat het bieden van een uitweg uit een rookverslaving belangrijker is dan ooit, en dat mensen die zijn overgestapt niet terugverleid mogen worden door een gebrek aan toegang tot e-sigaretten. Evenzo kunnen rokers die nog steeds roken de verhoogde gezondheidsrisico&#039;s van COVID-19 niet zomaar negeren. Zij hebben het alternatief van e-sigaretten nu meer dan ooit nodig.<\/p>\n<p class=\"\">Dat is waar de WVA in beeld komt. Deze organisatie vertegenwoordigt vapers \u2013 zowel huidige als toekomstige \u2013 wereldwijd en zal strijden voor hun recht om het meest bekende hulpmiddel tot nu toe \u2013 vapen \u2013 te gebruiken om zich te bevrijden van een tabaksverslaving.<\/p>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>When the Consumer Choice Center approached me asking if I was interested in heading up an alliance of vapers my first reaction was: this is very personal.
