Le gouvernement letton pr\u00e9voit d'augmenter la taxation des e-liquides, ce qui risque de rendre la r\u00e9duction des risques li\u00e9s au tabac moins attrayante pour les fumeurs actuels. Cette mesure a \u00e9t\u00e9 vivement critiqu\u00e9e par l'Alliance mondiale des vapoteurs, qui la juge contraire aux principes scientifiques et exige des autorit\u00e9s lettones qu'elles adoptent une approche fond\u00e9e sur des donn\u00e9es probantes concernant la taxation des produits nicotiniques alternatifs.<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n

Le gouvernement letton a adopt\u00e9 une s\u00e9rie d'amendements \u00e0 la loi sur les droits d'accise, pr\u00e9voyant notamment une augmentation progressive de ces droits sur les liquides de cigarette \u00e9lectronique et autres produits de substitution au tabac.<\/p>\n

Les taux de taxe d'accise sur les e-liquides et leurs composants augmenteront en moyenne de 21% par an en 2024, 2025 et 2026, tandis que ceux des produits de substitution du tabac, une cat\u00e9gorie comprenant les sachets de nicotine, augmenteront de 10%.<\/p>\n

L'Alliance mondiale des vapoteurs affirme que ces amendements auront un impact n\u00e9gatif sur les efforts de la Lettonie pour lutter contre le tabagisme en rendant les options de passage \u00e0 la cigarette \u00e9lectronique moins attrayantes.<\/p>\n

Alberto G\u00f3mez Hern\u00e1ndez, responsable de la communaut\u00e9 de la World Vapers' Alliance, a comment\u00e9 : \u2019Augmenter la taxation des produits nicotiniques moins nocifs dissuadera les fumeurs de changer de produit et les incitera \u00e0 reprendre le tabac.<\/i><\/p>\n

\u201c Les donn\u00e9es internationales ont d\u00e9montr\u00e9 que l\u2019augmentation de la taxation des cigarettes \u00e9lectroniques et des liquides pour cigarettes \u00e9lectroniques a toujours entra\u00een\u00e9 une augmentation du tabagisme, en particulier chez les jeunes adultes et les groupes \u00e0 faibles revenus. \u00bb.<\/i><\/p>\n
