Dix-neuf organisations internationales de consommateurs \u0153uvrant pour la r\u00e9duction des risques li\u00e9s au tabac ont exhort\u00e9 le gouvernement sud-africain \u00e0 \u201c\u00a0cesser de saboter la r\u00e9duction des risques\u00a0\u201d dans son nouveau projet de loi sur la lutte antitabac. Les repr\u00e9sentants de ces organisations demandent \u00e0 la commission parlementaire de la sant\u00e9 de reconna\u00eetre le vapotage et les autres produits nicotiniques alternatifs comme des outils de lutte contre le tabagisme.<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n

Le projet de loi sur le contr\u00f4le des produits du tabac et des syst\u00e8mes \u00e9lectroniques de distribution vise \u00e0 r\u00e9glementer les produits nicotiniques alternatifs et les produits combustibles de la m\u00eame mani\u00e8re, en pr\u00e9voyant des restrictions suppl\u00e9mentaires sur la vente et la fabrication des produits du tabac et de la nicotine. Il inclut \u00e9galement l'interdiction de la publicit\u00e9 pour les produits du tabac chauff\u00e9 et de vapotage, l'interdiction de leur utilisation en public et le pouvoir pour le ministre d'interdire certains ar\u00f4mes pour ces produits.<\/p>\n

\u00abLe tabagisme est un probl\u00e8me mondial qui exige une action urgente et adapt\u00e9e. Rien qu'en Afrique du Sud, 42\u00a0181 personnes meurent chaque ann\u00e9e des suites du tabagisme. Or, les mesures propos\u00e9es par le gouvernement sud-africain comprennent plusieurs dispositions qui risquent de freiner les progr\u00e8s accomplis par le pays dans la lutte contre cette \u00e9pid\u00e9mie et de mettre en danger la vie de tous ceux qui ont r\u00e9ussi \u00e0 arr\u00eater de fumer, notamment gr\u00e2ce \u00e0 la large disponibilit\u00e9 de produits de substitution nicotinique.<\/i>,\u201d\u00a0\u00bb, ont d\u00e9clar\u00e9 les organisations dans leur soumission.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n
