The country\u2019s Ministry of People\u2019s Power for Health issued a resolution this week prohibiting the manufacture, storage, distribution, circulation, commercialization, import, export, use, consumption, advertising, promotion, and sponsorship of electronic nicotine delivery systems (ENDS).<\/p>\n<p>Additionally, electronic non-nicotine delivery systems (ENNS), consumables, tanks or cartridges, refill consumable containers and other accessories are also banned, according to an emailed press release.<\/p>\n<p>Venezuela joins <a href=\"https:\/\/vaporvoice.net\/2023\/03\/28\/argentina-bans-e-cigarette-sale-and-import\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Argentina <\/a>and <a href=\"https:\/\/vaporvoice.net\/2022\/09\/02\/brazil-cracks-down-on-e-cigarette-retail-sales\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Brazil<\/a> in banning vaping products in South America.<\/p>\n<p>The decision comes two months after Venezuelan President Nicolas Maduro asked his government\u2019s medical and scientific team to consider the ban. According to the Ministry of Health, \u201cthe measure is taken in response to the alerts promoted by the World Health Organization (WHO).\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Alberto Gomez, community manager for Spain and Latin America for the World Vapers\u2019 Alliance, said the ban on reduced harm products in Venezuela is a setback for public health.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThousands of Venezuelans had already quit traditional tobacco thanks to vaping and had managed to improve their health,\u201d he said. \u201cNow they will have difficulty accessing the products, and it will be more difficult for more smokers to switch to less harmful alternatives.
