{"id":1682,"date":"2022-07-26T04:58:03","date_gmt":"2022-07-26T08:58:03","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/worldvapersalliance.com\/?p=1682"},"modified":"2022-08-05T05:00:35","modified_gmt":"2022-08-05T09:00:35","slug":"its-official-vaping-is-not-a-gateway-to-smoking-among-young-people","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/worldvapersalliance.com\/eu\/its-official-vaping-is-not-a-gateway-to-smoking-among-young-people\/","title":{"rendered":"It\u2019s Official: Vaping is NOT a Gateway to Smoking Among Young People"},"content":{"rendered":"<h4 class=\"gb-headline gb-headline-f0b6990b gb-headline-text\">Yet Another Vaping Myth Busted \u2013 This Time By Scientists<\/h4>\n<p>Google the word \u201cvaping\u201d on any day and you can bet that high on the list of results will be unsubstantiated tabloid articles about how vaping leads to more young people taking up cigarette smoking.<\/p>\n<p>The vaping community get incredibly frustrated by all the media negativity around e-cigarettes, and firmly believe that, if vaping is a gateway to anything, it\u2019s OUT of smoking and should be endorsed as a smoking cessation tool far and wide.<\/p>\n<p>This is why we\u2019re pleased to see new research from University College London and published in the much-respected New Scientist magazine that largely debunks the theory that e-cigarettes are creating a nation of young nicotine addicts. In a recent analysis of trends in cigarette and e-cigarette use in 16 to 24-year-olds in England, it states quite categorically that vaping doesn\u2019t appear to be a gateway to smoking tobacco.<\/p>\n<h5 class=\"gb-headline gb-headline-ab491e32 gb-headline-text\">Is It Genetic? Or Peer Pressure?<\/h5>\n<p>While acknowledging that there are studies that show teenagers who use <a class=\"external\" href=\"https:\/\/nvee.co.uk\/vape-kits\" rel=\"follow\">vape mod kits<\/a> have a greater probability of smoking, the new report points out that that doesn\u2019t prove that the first behaviour causes the second. The report\u2019s lead author, Professor Lion Shahab from UCL, said: \u201cIt could be the case that there\u2019s a common vulnerability that explains this association.
