1 de abril de 2026 \u2014 Nuevos datos del principal instituto de investigaci\u00f3n de salud p\u00fablica de Suecia, PODER<\/a>, confirma que fumar diariamente entre los adultos ha ca\u00eddo a tan solo 3,7%<\/a>, muy por debajo del umbral 5% de la OMS y la UE para espacios libres de humo. Las tasas de tabaquismo se han reducido aproximadamente a la mitad desde 2013, con descensos observados en todos los grupos de edad y en ambos sexos.<\/p>\n

Las cifras son sorprendentes. Entre los j\u00f3venes de 18 a 29 a\u00f1os, el tabaquismo diario se ha reducido a 2,9 TP4T. El consumo de bolsitas de nicotina y snus en el mismo grupo de edad es de 29 TP4T. La tendencia es clara: a medida que las alternativas menos da\u00f1inas se volvieron m\u00e1s accesibles, los fumadores optaron por otras alternativas. Suecia no lleg\u00f3 a este resultado mediante prohibiciones, sino ofreciendo opciones a la poblaci\u00f3n.<\/p>\n

Michael Landl, director de la Alianza Mundial de Vapeadores, dijo:<\/p>\n

El contraste con la pol\u00edtica de la UE no podr\u00eda ser m\u00e1s marcado. Mientras Suecia celebra un hito en salud p\u00fablica basado en la reducci\u00f3n de da\u00f1os, Bruselas avanza en la direcci\u00f3n opuesta. Restricciones a los sabores, impuestos punitivos sobre los productos alternativos de nicotina y una creciente presi\u00f3n para que todos los productos de nicotina reciban el mismo trato que los cigarrillos convencionales.
