Pero aqu\u00ed estoy, en 2023, leyendo el art\u00edculo de Brian King.<\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/hphr.org\/61-article-king\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> \u00faltimo art\u00edculo,<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> \u00bfTe preguntas c\u00f3mo llegamos hasta aqu\u00ed?\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Mucha gente cree que los consumidores y los due\u00f1os de peque\u00f1as tiendas de vapeo aqu\u00ed en Estados Unidos est\u00e1n en contra de la regulaci\u00f3n. Esto simplemente no es cierto. Lo que queremos es una regulaci\u00f3n justa, directrices claras y un marco regulatorio para las peque\u00f1as empresas.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Estas \u00faltimas declaraciones me dan pocas esperanzas de que la FDA considere alguna vez alguna de estas opciones, y mucho menos de que siquiera reconozca a los fumadores adultos que se han pasado al vapeo.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Como era de esperar, King se felicita a s\u00ed mismo por su propuesta de prohibici\u00f3n de los cigarrillos de mentol y los puros aromatizados, la rid\u00edcula idea de que los cigarrillos bajos en nicotina salvar\u00e1n la vida de los fumadores y las \u2019campa\u00f1as de educaci\u00f3n sobre el tabaco galardonadas\u201c como The Real Cost.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Luego afirm\u00f3 que la ciencia est\u00e1 marcando la pauta en la toma de decisiones de la FDA, declarando:\u201c<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">La ciencia es fundamental para fundamentar la toma de decisiones en materia de regulaci\u00f3n del tabaco. Como cient\u00edfica de formaci\u00f3n, soy especialmente consciente de la vital importancia de garantizar que recopilemos y utilicemos la mejor evidencia cient\u00edfica disponible, as\u00ed como de compartir nuestros hallazgos y colaborar con la comunidad cient\u00edfica para promover colectivamente la equidad en salud.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">A cualquier empresa que haya presentado una PMTA, sabemos perfectamente que esta declaraci\u00f3n es rid\u00edcula y, sinceramente, insultante.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Pero lo m\u00e1s insultante de esta declaraci\u00f3n de King es la total falta de reconocimiento hacia los fumadores adultos que se han pasado al vapeo. Casi como si no les import\u00e1ramos en absoluto.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">King ha negado repetidamente a los consumidores y a la peque\u00f1a industria del vapeo un foro abierto para expresar sus inquietudes y hacer preguntas.
