El lunes 8 de noviembre, la Comisi\u00f3n Especial del Parlamento Europeo sobre la Lucha contra el C\u00e1ncer se reuni\u00f3 para debatir las enmiendas al proyecto de informe del ponente.<\/h5>\n

La Comisi\u00f3n Especial del Parlamento Europeo sobre la Lucha contra el C\u00e1ncer (BECA<\/a>) se cre\u00f3 en septiembre de 2020 y est\u00e1 compuesta por 63 eurodiputados, 33 miembros titulares y 30 suplentes. Su objetivo es examinar las medidas que la UE puede adoptar para combatir el c\u00e1ncer, proponiendo acciones en cada etapa clave de la enfermedad: prevenci\u00f3n, diagn\u00f3stico, tratamiento, vida como superviviente de c\u00e1ncer y cuidados paliativos.<\/p>\n

El 3 de febrero de 2021, la Comisi\u00f3n public\u00f3 El plan europeo de lucha contra el c\u00e1ncer<\/a> con consultas<\/a> sobre la Hoja de Ruta del 4 de febrero al 3 de marzo de 2020 y sobre el Informe del 4 de febrero al 21 de mayo de 2020.<\/p>\n

El borrador del informe<\/a> El informe sobre la lucha contra el c\u00e1ncer se public\u00f3 finalmente el 25 de junio y, para consternaci\u00f3n de los expertos en reducci\u00f3n de da\u00f1os del tabaco, no reconoci\u00f3 el potencial del vapeo en la lucha contra el c\u00e1ncer inducido por el tabaquismo. En aquel momento, el director de la Asociaci\u00f3n Mundial de Vapeadores (WVA), Michael Landl, destac\u00f3 que el documento supone una mejora respecto al borrador de la Comisi\u00f3n Europea, que deja la puerta abierta a la prohibici\u00f3n de sabores y al aumento de impuestos, pero que, al ignorar el potencial de los productos de vapeo, sigue sin dar en el blanco.<\/p>\n
