{"id":631,"date":"2021-10-21T20:18:50","date_gmt":"2021-10-22T00:18:50","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/cccwva.wpengine.com\/?p=631"},"modified":"2022-02-05T15:32:12","modified_gmt":"2022-02-05T20:32:12","slug":"evidence-on-effectiveness-of-e-cigarettes-is-incontrovertible-speakers","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/worldvapersalliance.com\/en_gb\/evidence-on-effectiveness-of-e-cigarettes-is-incontrovertible-speakers\/","title":{"rendered":"Evidence on effectiveness of e-cigarettes is incontrovertible: Speakers"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><em>The webinar was organised by Bangladesh-based organisation \u2018Voices of Vapers\u2019<\/em><\/p>\n<p><strong>Evidence on the efficacy of harm reduction products like e-cigarette is incontrovertible, said speakers at a webinar on Thursday.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The webinar was organised by Bangladesh-based organisation \u2018Voices of Vapers\u2019, where speakers presented findings of a recently released white paper containing case studies on vaping in four countries, said a press release.<\/p>\n<p>The speakers discussed the findings of the paper and answered questions from a group of audiences who participated at the live session.<\/p>\n<p>Michael Landl, Director of the World Vapers\u2019 Alliance; Shahriar Arifin, DGM, Marketing, Unimed Unihealth Pharmaceuticals, Dr Rajib Joarder, Health Service Management and Policy Making, Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, and Schumann Zaman, President of Bangladesh Electronic Nicotine Delivery System Traders Association (BENDSTA), spoke at the online event.<\/p>\n<p>Michael Landl said that \u201cProgressive countries are implementing vaping regulations. If Bangladesh implements the regulation for vaping, it could be 6 million people who could switch to vaping than smoking cigarettes as per our calculation.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cVapes are at least 95% safer than the traditional combustible tobacco, according to the Public Health England. It\u2019s not the nicotine that kills people, but it\u2019s the tar from smoking, the speakers said while replying questions.\u201d, he said.<\/p>\n<p>Vapes are 5 to 7 times more effective to quit tobacco than other nicotine replacement therapies like patches or nicotine gums, the speakers insisted.<\/p>\n<p>Schumann said that vaping is 95 percent safer as per the information of the Public Health England. \u201cEconomically it is also convenient and lower than buying cigarettes.\u201d, he said.<\/p>\n<p>Speakers also claimed that 7 million deaths worldwide from cigarettes smoking can be stopped through vaping without any cost to the taxpayer.<\/p>\n<p>Dr Rajib said that \u201cThe anti-vapors do not have the right ideas about the benefits of vaping. Propaganda says vaping is bad and more dangerous than smoking. If somebody becomes a vapor, he cannot tolerate the smell of cigarette smoke.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Smoking rate in the UK \u2013 where the government embraced vaping as a quit smoking aid \u2013dropped by 25% since 2012 to 2020. By contrast in the European Union where vaping has faced hostility smoking decreased by 1% point between 2014 to 2020, the speakers said.<\/p>\n<p>The paper discussed at the webinar titled \u201cVaping Works. International Best Practices: United Kingdom, New Zealand, France and Canada,\u201danalyzes the policies implemented by governments on electronic cigarettes and combustible tobacco products for smoking cessation efforts in the UK, New Zealand, France and Canada.<\/p>\n<p>During the online event, Shahriar Arifin said that he gained stamina after switching to e-cigarettes, whereas he felt unwell when you smoked traditional cigarettes.<\/p>\n<p>The case studies indicate that there is clear and comprehensive evidence indicating electronic cigarettes are \u201c95 percent safer\u201d than combustible tobacco products, and are \u201ctwice as effective as traditional nicotine replacement therapies,\u201d the publishers of the papers said.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cCountries that embrace vaping, such as France, the United Kingdom, New Zealand, and Canada have witnessed a decrease in smoking rates that is twice as fast as the global average,\u201d the paper noted.<\/p>\n<p>Originally published\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.tbsnews.net\/economy\/corporates\/evidence-effectiveness-e-cigarettes-incontrovertible-speakers-319057\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener noreferrer\" data-wpel-link=\"external\">here<\/a>.<\/p>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The webinar was organised by Bangladesh-based organisation \u2018Voices of Vapers\u2019 Evidence on the efficacy of harm reduction products like e-cigarette is incontrovertible, said speakers at a webinar on Thursday.
