{"id":5096,"date":"2023-11-08T08:31:41","date_gmt":"2023-11-08T13:31:41","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/worldvapersalliance.com\/?p=5096"},"modified":"2023-11-08T08:31:41","modified_gmt":"2023-11-08T13:31:41","slug":"world-vapers-alliances-says-biden-misses-the-mark-following-announcement-to-half-cancer-death-rates","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/worldvapersalliance.com\/en_gb\/world-vapers-alliances-says-biden-misses-the-mark-following-announcement-to-half-cancer-death-rates\/","title":{"rendered":"World Vapers\u2019 Alliances says Biden \u2018misses the mark\u2019 Following Announ &hellip;"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Cancer Moonshot\u2019, which was originally unveiled back in 2016 when Biden was Vice President, has been issued a new lease of life following reignited White House leadership.<\/p>\n<p>According to The White House website, the core goal is to: \u201cReduce the death rate from cancer by at least 50 percent over the next 25 years.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cImproving the experience of people and their families living with and surviving cancer\u2026by doing this and more, it could end cancer as we know it today.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>An additional $240 million has made its way into the money pot to aid in executing this, with the hopes of finding new ways to prevent, detect, treat and ultimately survive cancer.<\/p>\n<p>One of the latest areas for concern is tobacco-related illnesses and deaths, which will be targeted in a number of ways according to an updated proposal:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>New investments to reduce the impact of menthol and other flavoured commercial tobacco products in communities that experience health disparities.<\/li>\n<li>An updated plan to decrease the impact of smoking on Americans\u2019 health by expanding efforts to prevent smoking and to support everyone who wants to quit.<\/li>\n<li>A pilot program to increase veteran engagement in tobacco use treatment.<\/li>\n<li>New resources and actions to reduce exposures to environmental carcinogens.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>It also lays out plans of CVS Health \u2018launching an expanded smoking cessation program in a dozen states\u2019, which would involve assessment, prescribing and counselling at their retail pharmacies.<\/p>\n<p>In response to Cancer Moonshot\u2019s recent plan of action, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.vapouround.co.uk\/news\/ban-on-disposable-vapes-contradicts-uks-successful-harm-reduction-policy\/\">The World Vapers\u2019 Alliance<\/a> (WVA) says it \u2018misses the mark\u2019 in prioritising tobacco harm reduction as a way to support public health concerns.<\/p>\n<p>Whilst all is well and good in addressing such a prolific matter, the WVA believes that the Biden Administration should join countries such as Sweden in implementing a more \u2018inclusive\u2019 strategy.<\/p>\n<p>Read the full text <a href=\"https:\/\/vapeast.com\/world-vapers-alliances-says-biden-misses-the-mark-following-announcement-to-half-cancer-death-rates\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">here<\/a><\/p>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Cancer Moonshot\u2019, which was originally unveiled back in 2016 when Biden was Vice President, has been issued a new lease of life following reignited White House leadership.
