{"id":4986,"date":"2023-10-30T09:48:38","date_gmt":"2023-10-30T13:48:38","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/worldvapersalliance.com\/?p=4986"},"modified":"2023-10-30T09:48:38","modified_gmt":"2023-10-30T13:48:38","slug":"activists-worried-about-cop-transparency","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/worldvapersalliance.com\/en_gb\/activists-worried-about-cop-transparency\/","title":{"rendered":"Activists Worried About COP Transparency"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The World Vapers Alliance (WVA) is worried about the transparency and inclusivity of the upcoming COP10 meeting for the World Health Organization\u2019s Framework Convention on Tobacco Control (FCTC).<\/p>\n<p>The WVA cites a recent <em>Politico <\/em>article, according to which seven EU member states have expressed reservations regarding their diminished roles and the Commission\u2019s deviation from established practices in the face of global treaties.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIt\u2019s deeply concerning that such pivotal discussions affecting millions of vapers and smokers across the EU might not reflect all member states\u2019 diverse views and interests, not to mention the diverse views of their citizens,\u201d said WVA Director Michael Landl in a <a href=\"https:\/\/worldvapersalliance.com\/en_gb\/division-in-the-eu-member-states-challenge-commissions-stance-on-tobacco-control\/\">statement<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe Commission\u2019s evident anti-harm reduction stance starkly contrasts with several member states that have been more progressive and successful with their harm reduction policies.
