The ministry added that the popularity of the products among non-smoking youth poses a serious public health problem, as it encourages nicotine addiction and exposure to carcinogenic substances, increasing the likelihood of them <a href=\"https:\/\/www.vapingpost.com\/2022\/10\/20\/another-study-says-there-is-no-proof-that-vaping-is-gateway-to-smoking\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">moving onto combustible cigarettes<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>Despite whether one agrees with such claims or not, most will agree that Serbia\u2019s efforts to forbid sales to minors are sensible. On the other hand, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.vapingpost.com\/2020\/03\/18\/hungary-a-predicted-drop-in-e-liquid-prices\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Hungary<\/a> is maintaining a more generic and less sensible approach. The country\u2019s ruling party Fidesz still fails to acknowledge the scientific evidence about the potential benefits of vapes. To this effect, State Secretary of the Ministry of Interior, Benec R\u00e9tv\u00e1ri, said that vaping will keep on being regulated in the same way as smoking.<\/p>\n<p>Discussing this statement, the Director of the World Vapers\u2019 Alliance (WVA) Michael Landl reiterated the fact that such a stance will just contribute to the loss of lives. \u201cIt is shocking that the Hungarian government still peddles worn-out and debunked myths about vaping. R\u00e9tv\u00e1ri systematically ignores scientific evidence proving the benefits of vaping, not to mention the first-hand experience of millions of vapers. Vaping is\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.vapingpost.com\/2019\/07\/04\/how-is-vaping-95-safer-than-smoking\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">95% less harmful<\/a>\u00a0than smoking and a\u00a0more effective method to quit smoking\u00a0than traditional therapies such as gum and patches.
