The UK government’s \u201csmoke-free\u201d goal by 2030 is being ramped up by their new \u201cswap to stop\u201d campaign.<\/span><\/p>\n

On April 11<\/span>th<\/span>, <\/span>the government released a statement<\/span><\/a> that almost 1 in 5 people who smoke in England will be provided with a vape starter kit alongside behavioral support. This \u201cworld-first\u201d national scheme is a big step in reaching that goal.<\/span><\/p>\n

In addition this plan also includes the following:\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Pregnant women will be offered up to $400 as an incentive to quit smoking.<\/span><\/p>\n

$3 million of funding for a vapes enforcement squad led by trading standards to prevent illicit and underage sales of vaping products.<\/span><\/p>\n

A call for evidence for further ideas on how to encourage quitting and preventing youth vaping.<\/span><\/p>\n

A consultation on introducing mandatory cigarette pack inserts with positive messages and information on quitting smoking.<\/span><\/p>\n

This new plan comes on the heels of a <\/span>government-commissioned review<\/span> by Dr. Javed Kahn which concluded that the \u201cgovernment must embrace the promotion of vaping as an effective tool to help people quit smoking tobacco\u201d.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

This news could not come at a better time, after all, it is Vapril.<\/span><\/p>\n
