{"id":3906,"date":"2023-03-27T05:28:35","date_gmt":"2023-03-27T09:28:35","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/worldvapersalliance.com\/?p=3906"},"modified":"2023-03-27T05:28:35","modified_gmt":"2023-03-27T09:28:35","slug":"lets-stop-the-norwegian-flavour-ban","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/worldvapersalliance.com\/en_gb\/lets-stop-the-norwegian-flavour-ban\/","title":{"rendered":"Let\u2019s Stop the Norwegian Flavour Ban"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Norway <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/ec.europa.eu\/growth\/tools-databases\/tris\/en\/search\/?trisaction=search.detail&amp;year=2023&amp;num=9003\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">proposed<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> to introduce a ban on all vaping flavourings except tobacco, but they ignore the negative consequences of such a ban once again.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Flavours are <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov\/pmc\/articles\/PMC8023840\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">commonly used among regular vapers of all age groups<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> and <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov\/32449933\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">around two thirds of adult vapers use flavours<\/span><\/a> <span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">and they are essential for adult smokers trying to quit, since they can <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov\/32501490\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">increase the odds of quitting by 230%<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">. Moreover, there is no evidence pointing that vaping flavours incentivize youth vaping or smoking.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">A flavour ban is a public health catastrophe in the making. <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov\/34695685\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Research<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> suggests that almost half of the vapers would turn to the black market or back to cigarettes.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">For too long, lawmakers have ignored vapers\u2019 opinions, meaning the most important voices \u2013 those of the consumer \u2013 and their lived experiences are missing and misunderstood.
