And this is something all Australian cancer councils should consider,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cVaping is available at a time when, worldwide, there have been 100 million smoking related deaths over the last 15 years. \u201cSwitching from smoking to vaping <a href=\"https:\/\/www.vapingpost.com\/2019\/07\/04\/how-is-vaping-95-safer-than-smoking\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">dramatically reduces<\/a> your risk of cancer. The cancer risk from vaping nicotine has been estimated to be more than 200 times less than the cancer risk from smoking,\u201d added Mendelsohn.<\/p>\n<p>Alecia Brooks, from NSW\u2019s Cancer Council NSW, has recently said that the council does not recommend the use of e-cigarettes for smoking cessation because the evidence on the matter is inconclusive. Responding to this, Mendelsohn said that this is actually not the case. \u201cBut this is incorrect,\u201d said Mendelsohn. \u201cThere\u2019s <a href=\"https:\/\/www.vapingpost.com\/2022\/09\/15\/study-questions-the-effectiveness-of-vapes-for-smoking-cessation\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">growing evidence<\/a> that vaping helps many smokers to quit.
