The Khan review was commissioned by the UK\u2019s Secretary of State for Health and Social Care, Rt Hon Sajid Javid MP. One key element of the review is the support for vaping as an effective tool to help smokers quit.<\/h5>\n<p>Michael Landl, Director of the global vaping advocacy group World Vapers\u2019 Alliance, commented: <i>\u201cIt is great that the UK seems to keep supporting vaping to help smokers quit despite the unfounded attacks in other parts of the world. Vaping is proven to be one of the most successful smoking cessation methods. The UK is the beacon of hope for smokers who want to quit, and other governments should follow their lead.\u201d<\/i><\/p>\n<p>The report endorses harm reduction and states that the \u201c<i>priority is to help people quit smoking as quickly, completely, and permanently as possible. That must also be the overriding public health priority<\/i>.\u201d Additionally, Dr Khan wants to tackle misinformation about vaping by providing \u201c<i>accurate information to consumers on the benefits of switching<\/i>.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The review includes the following recommendations:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Provide accurate information to healthcare professionals about the benefits of vaping<\/li>\n<li>Promote vaping as a substitute for smoking and offer free \u201cswap to stop\u201d vapes to help smokers quit<\/li>\n<li>Implement measures that prevent young people from taking up vaping<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Read the full text <a href=\"https:\/\/www.planetofthevapes.co.uk\/news\/vaping-news\/2022-06-15_the-wva-s-khan-reaction.html\">here<\/a><\/p>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The World Vapers\u2019 Alliance has welcomed the UK plans to push vaping to meet its smoke-free 2030 target.
