August 2025 \u2013 Nur noch 100 Tage bis zur n\u00e4chsten globalen Tabakkontrollkonferenz der WHO: Die World Vapers' Alliance warnt, dass die COP11 auf dem besten Weg ist, eine weitere Katastrophe f\u00fcr die \u00f6ffentliche Gesundheit zu werden. Anstatt Fortschritte zu begr\u00fc\u00dfen, setzen die WHO und das FCTC-Sekretariat ihren ideologischen Kreuzzug gegen Schadensminimierung fort \u2013 sie ignorieren wissenschaftliche Erkenntnisse, bringen Verbraucher zum Schweigen und beugen sich dem Einfluss von Milliard\u00e4ren.<\/p>\n

A Heute wurde ein neues WVA-Papier ver\u00f6ffentlicht.<\/a> Der Bericht zeigt, wie L\u00e4nder wie Schweden, Gro\u00dfbritannien, Neuseeland und Japan weltweit f\u00fchrend bei der Senkung der Raucherquoten sind, indem sie weniger sch\u00e4dliche Alternativen wie E-Zigaretten, Nikotinbeutel und Tabakerhitzer anbieten. Diese Strategien zeigen Wirkung: In Schweden ist die Raucherquote auf unter 61 Prozent gesunken, und die evidenzbasierte Politik Gro\u00dfbritanniens hat die Raucherquote auf den niedrigsten Stand seit Beginn der Aufzeichnungen gebracht. Japan hat den Zigarettenabsatz innerhalb von nur acht Jahren halbiert, indem es technologiebasierte Alternativen zugelassen hat.<\/p>\n

\u201e<\/em>Bloombergs Geld mag in manchen Kreisen f\u00fcr Schweigen sorgen, aber die Wissenschaft l\u00e4sst sich nicht f\u00fcr immer unterdr\u00fccken.<\/em><\/strong> Noch 100 Tage bis zum Stichtag \u2013 die L\u00e4nder m\u00fcssen jetzt handeln und dieser elit\u00e4ren, verbraucherfeindlichen Agenda Widerstand leisten. Schadensminimierung ist nicht umstritten, sie rettet Leben.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n

Doch die WHO zeigt kein Interesse. Statt aus Erfolgen zu lernen, setzt sie weiterhin auf Abstinenz, angeheizt von privaten Anti-Vaping-Lobbyisten und dem politischen Einfluss milliardenschwerer Geldgeber wie Michael Bloomberg. Diese Verhandlungen hinter verschlossenen T\u00fcren haben die Stimmen derjenigen zum Schweigen gebracht, die erfolgreich durch Schadensminimierung mit dem Rauchen aufgeh\u00f6rt haben, und Entwicklungsl\u00e4nder daran gehindert, ihre eigenen Strategien zu gestalten.<\/p>\n

Die WVA ruft die nationalen Delegationen dazu auf, sich auf der COP11 zu Wort zu melden, die unwissenschaftliche Haltung der WHO infrage zu stellen und Transparenz und Inklusion einzufordern.
