Sie weisen darauf hin, dass Produkte zur Schadensminderung beim Tabakkonsum Leben retten. Die 31 Verbraucherorganisationen, die Millionen von Dampfern weltweit vertreten, b\u00fcndeln ihre Kr\u00e4fte, um von der WHO ein Ende ihres Kampfes gegen das Dampfen und andere Alternativen zum Rauchen zu fordern.<\/em>Die Gruppen bestehen darauf, dass sich die WHO darauf konzentrieren sollte, ihrer Verpflichtung zur Verringerung der Sch\u00e4den durch das Rauchen nachzukommen.<\/p>\n<p>Michael Landl, Direktor der World Vapers&#039; Alliance, einer der Organisationen hinter dem Aufruf, sagte: \u2019Die WHO hat die Chance, das Rauchen endg\u00fcltig zu besiegen, doch stattdessen konzentriert sie sich auf E-Zigaretten und andere Hilfsmittel, die die Sch\u00e4dlichkeit des Tabakkonsums verringern k\u00f6nnen. Die WHO ignoriert systematisch die F\u00fclle wissenschaftlicher Erkenntnisse, die auf die Vorteile dieser Produkte hinweisen, sowie die pers\u00f6nlichen Erfahrungen von Millionen von B\u00fcrgern, die dauerhaft mit dem Rauchen aufgeh\u00f6rt haben. Die Einschr\u00e4nkung oder das Verbot des Zugangs zu E-Zigaretten, Nikotinbeuteln, Snus und anderen Produkten wird nichts anderes bewirken als Menschenleben kosten. Millionen von Leben k\u00f6nnten gerettet werden, wenn es der WHO wirklich ernst damit w\u00e4re, das Rauchen zu besiegen.\u201c<\/p>\n<p>2021 ist ein entscheidendes Jahr f\u00fcr die globale Gesundheitspolitik. Die neunte Vertragsstaatenkonferenz (COP 9) findet im November statt. Sie wird die Richtung f\u00fcr die weltweite Politik zur Eind\u00e4mmung des Rauchens und Dampfens vorgeben.<\/p>\n<p>Die WVA erkl\u00e4rt, dass eines der Hauptprobleme im Zusammenhang mit der COP9 darin besteht, dass das Protokoll des Rahmen\u00fcbereinkommens zur Eind\u00e4mmung des Tabakkonsums (FCTC) sein Kernziel der Reduzierung des Rauchens aus den Augen verloren hat und sich stattdessen darauf zu konzentrieren scheint, den Zugang zu weniger sch\u00e4dlichen Alternativen zu bek\u00e4mpfen.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWeltweit k\u00f6nnten 200 Millionen Leben gerettet werden, doch so wie es aussieht, wird die COP9 eine weitere wissenschafts- und verbraucherfeindliche WHO-Farce sein. Es ist an der Zeit, die Verpflichtungen des Rahmen\u00fcbereinkommens zur Eind\u00e4mmung des Tabakgebrauchs (FCTC) zur Schadensminderung im Tabakkonsum endlich einzul\u00f6sen, indem Produkte zur Schadensminderung gef\u00f6rdert werden\u201d, so Michael Landl abschlie\u00dfend.<\/p>\n<p>In dem gemeinsamen Schreiben hei\u00dft es: \u201cWir fordern das Recht auf Gleichberechtigung und das Recht, an Versammlungen, Sitzungen und der \u00f6ffentlichen Politik in einer Weise teilzunehmen, die derjenigen verschiedener Anti-Raucher-Organisationen, Vertreter von Pharmaunternehmen oder Nichtregierungsorganisationen unterschiedlicher Art (wie etwa solche, die milliardenschweren Philanthropen geh\u00f6ren oder deren Ideologie mit einem Scheckbuchstrich befolgen) analog ist, die derzeit und ausschlie\u00dflich in Ihrer Institution vertreten sind.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Es werden anschlie\u00dfend noch drei weitere Forderungen gestellt:<\/p>\n<ol>\n<li>Wir fordern, dass sie die Verfolgung und Diskreditierung von Organisationen einstellen, die sich f\u00fcr die Reduzierung der Sch\u00e4den durch Rauchen einsetzen.<\/li>\n<li>Wir fordern die Weltgesundheitsorganisation auf, einen direkten Dialog zwischen verschiedenen Interessengruppen zu initiieren und die Bildung von Allianzen im Rahmen der Ziele f\u00fcr nachhaltige Entwicklung der Agenda 2030 zu f\u00f6rdern.<\/li>\n<li>Wir fordern die WHO auf, die Ma\u00dfnahmen einzustellen, die sie faktisch ergriffen hat, um die Debatte \u00fcber neue, wissenschaftlich fundierte Strategien zur Bek\u00e4mpfung des Tabakkonsums bei Erwachsenen weltweit zu verhindern.<\/li>\n<\/ol>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Members of the World Vapers\u2019 Alliance (WVA) have written a joint letter to the World Health Organization (WHO) calling on it to \u201cface reality\u201d, pointing out that tobacco harm reduction products save lives.
