April 2024<\/strong> Die World Vapers' Alliance (WVA) fordert die EU-Gesundheitsminister angesichts der Verz\u00f6gerungen bei der Tabakgesetzgebung zu sofortigem Handeln auf, um wissenschaftlich fundierte Strategien zur Schadensminderung im Zusammenhang mit Tabakkonsum zu verabschieden. Der Appell erfolgt im Rahmen des zweit\u00e4gigen Treffens der Gesundheitsminister in Br\u00fcssel. EPSCO-Treffen<\/a> wobei der Europ\u00e4ische Plan zur Krebsbek\u00e4mpfung eines der wichtigsten Diskussionsthemen ist.<\/p>\n

Michael Landl, Direktor der WVA, kritisiert die aktuelle Politik., <\/strong>mit der Begr\u00fcndung:, \u201cDie EU-Kommission ignoriert die wissenschaftlichen Erkenntnisse zur Tabakpolitik. Es ist v\u00f6llig klar, dass sicherere Nikotinalternativen wie E-Zigaretten oder Pouch-Zigaretten deutlich weniger sch\u00e4dlich sind als Rauchen und die Raucherentw\u00f6hnung effektiv unterst\u00fctzen. Die EU-Gesundheitsminister haben diese Woche die entscheidende Gelegenheit, sich f\u00fcr sinnvolle Regelungen einzusetzen, die j\u00e4hrlich 700.000 unn\u00f6tige Todesf\u00e4lle durch Rauchen verhindern k\u00f6nnten. Der Krebsbek\u00e4mpfungsplan erkennt an, dass E-Zigaretten Rauchern beim Aufh\u00f6ren helfen k\u00f6nnen. Die Politik muss entsprechend handeln.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n

Landl betonte, dass das Treffen einen potenziellen Wendepunkt darstellen k\u00f6nnte., \u201cDieses Treffen sollte den Beginn der Bem\u00fchungen um eine rauchfreie Zukunft der EU markieren. Die Gesundheitsminister sollten sich ein Beispiel an Schweden nehmen, das kurz davor steht, das erste rauchfreie Land der Welt zu werden, vor allem dank der Einf\u00fchrung sichererer und weniger sch\u00e4dlicher Alternativen. Es ist weiterhin unerl\u00e4sslich, dass die EU diesem Beispiel folgt und sinnvolle Regelungen durchsetzt.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n

Die Dringlichkeit dieses Themas wird von \u00fcber 35.000 B\u00fcrgern unterstrichen, die die \u201cJedes Leben z\u00e4hlt<\/a>\u201dDie WVA hat eine Petition eingereicht, in der sie die EU auffordert, die Grunds\u00e4tze der Schadensminderung in ihre Tabakpolitik aufzunehmen.
