Dublin, 20.12.2023. \u2013<\/strong> Der irische Finanzminister Michael McGrath verschob die Einf\u00fchrung einer Steuer auf E-Zigaretten, da er bef\u00fcrchtete, dass diese Raucher, die E-Zigaretten verwenden, vom Aufh\u00f6ren abhalten w\u00fcrde.<\/p>\n

Beamte des Finanzministeriums wiesen darauf hin, dass ein Gleichgewicht gefunden werden m\u00fcsse, um junge Menschen vom Dampfen abzuhalten und gleichzeitig Raucher beim Umstieg auf E-Zigaretten zu unterst\u00fctzen. \u00c4hnliche Kommentare kamen von Beamten des Gesundheitsministeriums, die empfahlen, E-Zigaretten je nach ihrem relativen Sch\u00e4dlichkeitspotenzial im Vergleich zu herk\u00f6mmlichen Zigaretten unterschiedlich zu besteuern.<\/p>\n

Michael Landl, Direktor der World Vapers' Alliance, kommentierte:\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n

\u201cWir begr\u00fc\u00dfen die Entscheidung des Finanzministers und fordern die irische Regierung auf, die Steuerdifferenz zwischen E-Zigaretten und herk\u00f6mmlichen Zigaretten auch k\u00fcnftig so hoch zu halten, dass Raucher zum Umstieg motiviert werden. Das Risikoprofil von E-Zigaretten ist deutlich geringer als das von herk\u00f6mmlichen Zigaretten, und sie sollten entsprechend besteuert werden.\u201c. W\u00e4re die Steuer beschlossen worden, h\u00e4tte sie Zehntausende von Dampfern zur\u00fcck zum Rauchen getrieben.\u201d.<\/strong><\/em><\/p>\n

Forschungen haben gezeigt, dass eine Erh\u00f6hung der Steuern auf E-Zigaretten zu Folgendem f\u00fchren kann: h\u00f6herer Zigarettenkonsum<\/a>, insbesondere unter jungen Erwachsenen<\/a>. Das Finanzministerium \u00e4u\u00dferte in seiner Stellungnahme Bedenken, dass Dampfer im Falle der Einf\u00fchrung der Steuer auf den Schwarzmarkt ausweichen k\u00f6nnten. Die Umsetzung der Steuer wurde verschoben, ein neuer Termin steht noch nicht fest. Die Regierung wartet zudem auf einen EU-Rahmen, der die Umsetzung erleichtern soll. Die Aktualisierung der EU-Tabaksteuerrichtlinie wird voraussichtlich eine EU-weite Verbrauchssteuer auf E-Zigarettenprodukte beinhalten.<\/p>\n

\u201cEine Besteuerung von E-Zigarettenprodukten \u00e4hnlich wie von herk\u00f6mmlichen Zigaretten h\u00e4tte negative Auswirkungen auf die \u00f6ffentliche Gesundheit, da sie Dampfer wieder zum Rauchen oder auf den Schwarzmarkt treiben w\u00fcrde.\u201c<\/strong> und Raucher vom Umstieg abzuhalten.
