Riga, 11.10.2023. \u2013<\/strong> Die lettische Regierung hat eine Reihe von Ma\u00dfnahmen verabschiedet \u00c4nderungen des Verbrauchsteuergesetzes<\/a> Diese \u00c4nderungen beinhalten eine schrittweise Erh\u00f6hung der Verbrauchssteuer auf E-Liquids und andere Tabakersatzprodukte. Die Verbrauchssteuers\u00e4tze f\u00fcr E-Liquids und deren Bestandteile werden in den Jahren 2024, 2025 und 2026 j\u00e4hrlich um durchschnittlich 211 TP4T steigen, w\u00e4hrend die Steuers\u00e4tze f\u00fcr Tabakersatzprodukte, zu denen auch Nikotinbeutel geh\u00f6ren, um 101 TP4T erh\u00f6ht werden. Die \u00c4nderungen werden Lettlands Bem\u00fchungen zur Eind\u00e4mmung des Rauchens negativ beeinflussen, da sie den Umstieg auf Tabakprodukte unattraktiver machen.<\/p>\n

Alberto G\u00f3mez Hern\u00e1ndez, Community Manager der World Vapers' Alliance, kommentierte:<\/p>\n

\u201cEine h\u00f6here Besteuerung von weniger sch\u00e4dlichen Nikotinprodukten w\u00fcrde Raucher vom Umstieg abhalten und sie eher zum Rauchen zur\u00fcckf\u00fchren. Internationale Studien belegen, dass eine h\u00f6here Besteuerung von E-Zigaretten und E-Liquids stets zu einem Anstieg des Rauchens gef\u00fchrt hat, insbesondere bei jungen Erwachsenen und Menschen mit niedrigem Einkommen. Lettland sollte dem Beispiel von L\u00e4ndern folgen, die die Raucherquoten erfolgreich senken, indem sie Raucher zum Umstieg ermutigen, anstatt ihnen diesen zu erschweren. Beispiele hierf\u00fcr sind Gro\u00dfbritannien und Schweden.<\/em>\u201d<\/p>\n

Das Gesetz sieht au\u00dferdem eine j\u00e4hrliche Erh\u00f6hung der Verbrauchsteuers\u00e4tze f\u00fcr erhitzte Tabakerzeugnisse und Tabakzigaretten um 5% bzw. 5,6% vor.<\/p>\n

\u201eDampfen ist weniger sch\u00e4dlich als Rauchen und sollte entsprechend behandelt werden. Die lettische Regierung sollte bei der Besteuerung von Tabak und alternativen Nikotinprodukten einen risikobasierten Ansatz verfolgen, wobei sicherere Produkte im Vergleich zu herk\u00f6mmlichen Zigaretten niedriger besteuert werden. Im Gegenteil, diese Ma\u00dfnahmen zielen darauf ab, den Preis alternativer Produkte schneller zu erh\u00f6hen als den von herk\u00f6mmlichen Zigaretten, wodurch dieser Ansatz faktisch umgekehrt wird.,<\/em>\u201df\u00fcgte G\u00f3mez Hern\u00e1ndez hinzu.\u201c.<\/p>\n

\u201eStaaten sollten stets darauf achten, einen gro\u00dfen Preisunterschied zwischen weniger sch\u00e4dlichen Nikotinprodukten und herk\u00f6mmlichen Zigaretten aufrechtzuerhalten. Alternativen zum Rauchen verf\u00fcgbar und g\u00fcnstiger als Tabakzigaretten anzubieten, ist eine hervorragende Ma\u00dfnahme, um Raucher zum Umstieg zu bewegen und die \u00f6ffentliche Gesundheit zu verbessern.,<\/em>\u201d, schloss G\u00f3mez Hern\u00e1ndez.<\/p>\n
