In den letzten zwei Jahrzehnten ist die Raucherquote unter amerikanischen Jugendlichen von 351 auf 111 gesunken. Dies ist ein signifikanter R\u00fcckgang bei US-Erwachsenen im Alter von 18 bis 29 Jahren und der gr\u00f6\u00dfte R\u00fcckgang in einer Altersgruppe seit Beginn des Jahrtausends.<\/span><\/p>\n

Laut dieser aktuellen j\u00e4hrlichen Gallup-Umfrage zu Konsumgewohnheiten<\/span><\/a>, In einer seit 2001 j\u00e4hrlich durchgef\u00fchrten Studie sehen wir, dass der Anteil junger Erwachsener, die rauchen, weiterhin drastisch sinkt, und das haben wir den E-Zigaretten zu verdanken.<\/span><\/p>\n

Seit 2019 erfasst Gallup den Konsum von E-Zigaretten in den USA getrennt von der Erfassung des Rauchens.<\/span><\/p>\n

Diese Daten zeigen, dass 191 von 18- bis 29-J\u00e4hrigen E-Zigaretten konsumieren.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Wenngleich <\/span>Das Dampfen ist unter den 18- bis 29-J\u00e4hrigen mit 191 F\u00e4llen deutlich verbreiteter als in \u00e4lteren Altersgruppen, darunter 71 F\u00e4lle bei den 30- bis 49-J\u00e4hrigen, 31 F\u00e4lle bei den 50- bis 64-J\u00e4hrigen und weniger als 11 F\u00e4lle bei den \u00fcber 65-J\u00e4hrigen. Dies zeigt, dass die \u00e4ltere Bev\u00f6lkerungsgruppe leider immer noch herk\u00f6mmliche Zigaretten bevorzugt.<\/span><\/p>\n

Andererseits zeigen die Daten von Gallup einen Anstieg des Marihuanakonsums in derselben Altersgruppe. <\/span>Zwischen 2019 und 2022 gaben durchschnittlich 261 junge Erwachsene an, Marihuana zu konsumieren, gegen\u00fcber 171 zwischen 2013 und 2015. Mehr als doppelt so viele junge Erwachsene konsumieren mittlerweile Marihuana wie Zigaretten. Marihuana-Konsum ist unter jungen Erwachsenen auch verbreiteter als das Dampfen.<\/span><\/p>\n

Diese Ergebnisse widerlegen das Argument, dass Dampfen ein Einstieg ins Rauchen sei, und beweisen wom\u00f6glich sogar das Gegenteil. Gesundheitsbeh\u00f6rden sollten nun wissen, dass die Behauptung, Dampfen sei ein Einstieg ins Rauchen, falsch ist. Vielmehr stellt es einen Weg weg vom sch\u00e4dlichen Rauchen dar und sollte als solcher begr\u00fc\u00dft und unterst\u00fctzt werden.<\/span><\/p>\n

Man sollte meinen, dass die Verantwortlichen im Bereich der \u00f6ffentlichen Gesundheit den starken R\u00fcckgang des Konsums von Tabakzigaretten begr\u00fc\u00dfen und ihre Haltung und Kommunikation zu sichereren Nikotinprodukten \u00e4ndern w\u00fcrden, um nicht nur falsche Vorstellungen der \u00d6ffentlichkeit \u00fcber Nikotin zu korrigieren, sondern dies auch als M\u00f6glichkeit zu f\u00f6rdern, \u00e4lteren Bev\u00f6lkerungsgruppen den Umstieg zu erleichtern.<\/span><\/p>\n

Die FDA behauptet, ihre Botschaften zielten darauf ab, den Konsum unter Jugendlichen einzuschr\u00e4nken, doch diese Taktik schl\u00e4gt eindeutig fehl, da junge Erwachsene offenbar eigene Recherchen anstellen und das Dampfen als ges\u00fcndere Alternative w\u00e4hlen, w\u00e4hrend diese \u201cf\u00fcr Jugendliche gedachten\u201d Botschaften \u00e4ltere Bev\u00f6lkerungsgruppen m\u00f6glicherweise nur dazu verleiten, weiterhin t\u00f6dliche Zigaretten zu rauchen!<\/span><\/p>\n
