Eine unterschiedliche Besteuerung von Tabak- und E-Zigarettenprodukten ist f\u00fcr viele Menschen unerl\u00e4sslich, um umzusteigen. Hohe Steuern auf E-Zigarettenprodukte benachteiligen zudem insbesondere Menschen mit geringem Einkommen, da sie den Umstieg erschweren, obwohl diese Gruppe den gr\u00f6\u00dften Anteil der Raucher ausmacht.<\/p>\n

\u201cHohe Steuern treffen die \u00c4rmsten am h\u00e4rtesten. In Zeiten vielf\u00e4ltiger Krisen, in denen viele Menschen ums \u00dcberleben k\u00e4mpfen, ist eine Verteuerung des Dampfens genau das Gegenteil von dem, was wir brauchen. Die Politik muss verstehen, dass Steuererh\u00f6hungen auf E-Zigaretten die Menschen zur\u00fcck zum Rauchen oder auf den Schwarzmarkt treiben \u2013 ein Szenario, das niemand will. Gerade in Krisenzeiten sollten die Menschen nicht durch einen unwissenschaftlichen und ideologisch motivierten Kampf gegen das Dampfen zus\u00e4tzlich bestraft werden. Das muss aufh\u00f6ren\u201d, sagte Landl.<\/p>\n

Die Weltallianz der Dampfer appelliert an die EU-Kommission und die Mitgliedstaaten, sich an die wissenschaftlichen Erkenntnisse zu halten und von einer h\u00f6heren Besteuerung von E-Zigaretten abzusehen, wenn wir die durch das Rauchen verursachten Belastungen der \u00f6ffentlichen Gesundheit verringern wollen. Der Zugang zu E-Zigaretten und deren Bezahlbarkeit m\u00fcssen gew\u00e4hrleistet sein.<\/p>\n

\u201cAnstatt das Dampfen zu bek\u00e4mpfen, muss die EU endlich die Schadensminderung im Tabakbereich in den Fokus r\u00fccken. Wir brauchen eine risikobasierte Regulierung.
