Juni ver\u00f6ffentlichte Entwurf des Berichts stellt eine Verbesserung gegen\u00fcber dem Entwurf der Europ\u00e4ischen Kommission dar, der die M\u00f6glichkeit von Aromenverboten und h\u00f6heren Steuern offenl\u00e4sst. Da der Bericht des Europ\u00e4ischen Parlaments jedoch keine klare Aussage zum Potenzial des Dampfens und der Schadensminderung im Kampf gegen rauchbedingten Krebs trifft, verfehlt er sein Ziel.<\/p>\n<p>WVA-Direktor Michael Landl sagte:<\/p>\n<p>\u201e<em>Die Mitglieder des Europ\u00e4ischen Parlaments haben sich die Zeit genommen, den Dampfern und ihren Geschichten zuzuh\u00f6ren sowie die zahlreichen von Experten vorgelegten Beweise zu ber\u00fccksichtigen. Dampfen k\u00f6nnte in Europa weitere 19 Millionen Leben retten, wenn die richtigen politischen Ma\u00dfnahmen ergriffen werden.<\/em>\u201d<\/p>\n<p><em>\u201cDas Parlament hat das Dampfen als Hilfsmittel zur Raucherentw\u00f6hnung jedoch noch nicht uneingeschr\u00e4nkt unterst\u00fctzt. Es ist daher unerl\u00e4sslich, dass Dampfer weiterhin ihre Geschichten erz\u00e4hlen und sicherstellen, dass ihre Abgeordneten verstehen, wie das Dampfen ihnen geholfen hat, ihr Leben zum Besseren zu ver\u00e4ndern.\u201d <\/em>Landl f\u00fcgte hinzu.<\/p>\n<p>Der Bericht des Europ\u00e4ischen Parlaments stuft das Dampfen nicht explizit in dieselbe Kategorie wie Tabakzigaretten ein, was zu begr\u00fc\u00dfen ist. Angesichts der bevorstehenden umfassenden \u00dcberpr\u00fcfung der Tabakproduktrichtlinie und der zur Debatte stehenden Vorschl\u00e4ge der Europ\u00e4ischen Kommission, E-Zigaretten wie Tabak zu behandeln, m\u00fcssen Dampfer ihre Stimme jedoch noch lauter erheben.<\/p>\n<p><em>\u201cWir werden uns weiterhin f\u00fcr eine vern\u00fcnftige Regulierung des Dampfens in Europa einsetzen und alle Abgeordneten des Europ\u00e4ischen Parlaments dazu auffordern, die wissenschaftlichen Erkenntnisse zu ber\u00fccksichtigen und das Dampfen als Methode zur Schadensminderung zu bef\u00fcrworten. Aromenverbote und Steuererh\u00f6hungen erschweren Rauchern lediglich den Umstieg. Die endg\u00fcltige Fassung des Krebsbek\u00e4mpfungsplans des Parlaments wird voraussichtlich im Herbst dieses Jahres vorgelegt.
