Bei den 18- bis 29-J\u00e4hrigen ist der t\u00e4gliche Zigarettenkonsum auf 2,9 \u00b5g gesunken. Der Konsum von Nikotinbeuteln und Snus liegt in derselben Altersgruppe bei 29 \u00b5g. Das Muster ist eindeutig: Mit dem leichteren Zugang zu weniger sch\u00e4dlichen Alternativen sind die Raucher umgestiegen. Schweden hat dieses Ergebnis nicht durch Verbote erreicht, sondern den Menschen Wahlm\u00f6glichkeiten geboten.<\/p>\n<p>Michael Landl, Direktor der World Vapers&#039; Alliance, sagte:<\/p>\n<p><strong><em>\u201cSchweden beweist, was Schadensminderung bewirken kann, wenn politische Entscheidungstr\u00e4ger ihre Ma\u00dfnahmen auf Fakten st\u00fctzen und den Verbrauchern vertrauen. Der Status als wirklich rauchfreies Land ist kein Zufall, sondern das direkte Ergebnis jahrzehntelanger Bem\u00fchungen, erwachsenen Rauchern weniger sch\u00e4dliche Alternativen anzubieten. W\u00e4hrend in Br\u00fcssel \u00fcber Aromaverbote und h\u00f6here Steuern debattiert wird, zeigt Schweden dem Rest Europas, wie eine wahrhaft rauchfreie Gesellschaft aussieht. W\u00e4hrend Schweden einen Meilenstein im Bereich der \u00f6ffentlichen Gesundheit feiert, der auf Schadensminimierung beruht, schl\u00e4gt Br\u00fcssel einen v\u00f6llig anderen Weg ein. Aromenbeschr\u00e4nkungen, hohe Steuern auf alternative Nikotinprodukte und zunehmender Druck, alle Nikotinprodukte wie herk\u00f6mmliche Zigaretten zu behandeln \u2013 das sind die pr\u00e4genden Merkmale der heutigen EU-Tabakpolitik. Und genau diese Politik hat Schweden nie \u00fcbernommen.<\/p>\n<p>Schweden verzeichnet 411 weniger tabakbedingte Krebserkrankungen und eine um 441 niedrigere tabakbedingte Sterblichkeit als der EU-Durchschnitt. Dieser Unterschied ist kein Zufall.<\/p>\n<p>Die Weltallianz der Dampfer appelliert an die EU-Politik, die schwedischen Erfahrungen ernst zu nehmen. Risikogerechte Regulierung ist wirksam.
