Die Unterzeichner werfen Kommissar V\u00e1rhelyi vor, \u201cwissenschaftlich unhaltbare\u201d Behauptungen aufzustellen, wonach rauchfreie Alternativen genauso sch\u00e4dlich seien wie herk\u00f6mmliche Zigaretten.<\/p>\n<p>Der Brief verdeutlicht ein Muster falscher Aussagen, darunter die Behauptung des Kommissars, dass E-Zigaretten \u201cPopcorn-Lunge\u201d verursachen \u2013 eine Erkrankung, f\u00fcr die es keinen einzigen bekannten Fall gibt, der auf den Konsum von E-Zigaretten zur\u00fcckzuf\u00fchren ist. Wenn hochrangige Beamte \u00fcber die relativen Risiken von Nikotin l\u00fcgen, verraten sie Millionen von Rauchern und Ex-Rauchern. Diese Desinformation verwirrt nicht nur die \u00d6ffentlichkeit, sondern sch\u00fctzt auch die Zigarettenindustrie, indem sie den Anreiz f\u00fcr EU-Raucher beseitigt, auf weitaus weniger sch\u00e4dliche Alternativen umzusteigen.
