3.12.25 \u2013 Br\u00fcssel.<\/strong> Die World Vapers' Alliance (WVA) warnt vor der d\u00e4nischen EU-Ratspr\u00e4sidentschaft Forderung nach einer \u201cSupersteuer\u201d<\/a> Die von der Europ\u00e4ischen Kommission unterst\u00fctzte Regulierung von Tabakerhitzern und anderen weniger sch\u00e4dlichen Nikotinprodukten birgt die Gefahr, die Schadensminderung im Tabakbereich zu gef\u00e4hrden und Millionen von Konsumenten zu bestrafen, die von Zigaretten auf Tabakerhitzer umgestiegen sind.<\/p>\n

A neuer Entwurfstext<\/a> Die \u00c4nderung der Tabaksteuerrichtlinie (TED) w\u00fcrde die Mindeststeuer auf erhitzten Tabak von 155 \u20ac auf 360 \u20ac pro Kilogramm mehr als verdoppeln und einen obligatorischen Mindestpreis von 551 TP4T im Einzelhandel einf\u00fchren, was den Forderungen von Anti-Tabak-NGOs weitgehend entspricht.<\/p>\n

Der Text ignoriert die Forderungen Tausender EU-B\u00fcrger und Gesundheitsexperten, die an der TED-\u00f6ffentliche Konsultation<\/a>, sowie Warnungen von 83 f\u00fchrenden Experten f\u00fcr \u00f6ffentliche Gesundheit<\/a> dass der Steuerplan der Kommission die Wissenschaft ignoriert und die Gefahr birgt, den Fortschritt zunichtezumachen.<\/p>\n

Michael Landl, Direktor der World Vapers' Alliance, sagte:<\/p>\n

\u201e<\/em>Weniger sch\u00e4dliche Produkte im Vergleich zu Zigaretten relativ teurer zu machen, ist eine zutiefst kontraproduktive Idee.<\/em><\/strong> Wenn die Preisunterschiede zwischen Zigaretten und weniger sch\u00e4dlichen Alternativen verschwinden, verlieren Raucher den finanziellen Anreiz zum Umstieg. Die Folge ist vorhersehbar und tragisch: Weniger Menschen werden mit dem Rauchen aufh\u00f6ren, und diejenigen, die bereits umgestiegen sind, werden wieder damit anfangen. <\/em>Diese \u2018Supersteuer\u2019 ist keine evidenzbasierte Gesundheitspolitik; sie ist ein Verbot durch den Preis.\u201d<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n

Mitgliedstaaten, die die Reform kritisieren, haben bereits Alarm geschlagen, dass diese \u00c4nderungen Forderungen nach verh\u00e4ltnism\u00e4\u00dfigen Steuererh\u00f6hungen, dem Erhalt von Preisdifferenzen f\u00fcr Produkte zur Schadensminderung und einer ernsthaften Bewertung der Risiken des illegalen Handels ignorieren.<\/p>\n

\u201cDie Mitgliedstaaten haben wiederholt M\u00e4\u00dfigung, Folgenabsch\u00e4tzungen und den Schutz von Strategien zur Schadensminderung gefordert. Die EU-Steuerpolitik darf nicht an nicht rechenschaftspflichtige Interessengruppen ausgelagert werden, w\u00e4hrend B\u00fcrger und nationale Regierungen an den Rand gedr\u00e4ngt werden.\u201c.<\/em> Das ist Ideologie im Gewand der Besteuerung.<\/em><\/strong>,\u201d <\/em>f\u00fcgte Landl hinzu.<\/p>\n

Die Weltallianz der Dampfer appelliert an vern\u00fcnftige Mitgliedstaaten, sich gegen einen derart regressiven Steuerplan auszusprechen und stattdessen auf die erfolgreichen L\u00e4nder der EU zu h\u00f6ren.
