Die lettische Regierung plant eine Erh\u00f6hung der Steuern auf E-Liquids und macht damit die Tabakschadensminderung f\u00fcr Raucher unattraktiver. Der Weltverband der Dampfer (World Vapers' Alliance) kritisierte diesen Schritt scharf und bezeichnete ihn als wissenschaftsfeindlich. Er forderte die lettischen Beh\u00f6rden auf, bei der Besteuerung alternativer Nikotinprodukte evidenzbasierte Methoden anzuwenden.<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n

Die lettische Regierung hat eine Reihe von \u00c4nderungen des Verbrauchsteuergesetzes verabschiedet, die unter anderem eine schrittweise Erh\u00f6hung der Verbrauchsteuer auf E-Liquids und andere Tabakersatzprodukte vorsehen.<\/p>\n

F\u00fcr E-Liquids und deren Bestandteile werden die Verbrauchsteuers\u00e4tze in den Jahren 2024, 2025 und 2026 durchschnittlich um 211 TP4T pro Jahr steigen, w\u00e4hrend dies f\u00fcr Tabakersatzprodukte, zu denen auch Nikotinbeutel geh\u00f6ren, um 101 TP4T erfolgen wird.<\/p>\n

Die World Vapers' Alliance erkl\u00e4rt, die \u00c4nderungen w\u00fcrden sich negativ auf Lettlands Bem\u00fchungen zur Eind\u00e4mmung des Rauchens auswirken, da sie den Umstieg weniger attraktiv machten.<\/p>\n

Alberto G\u00f3mez Hern\u00e1ndez, Community Manager der World Vapers' Alliance, kommentierte: \u2019Eine Erh\u00f6hung der Besteuerung sichererer Nikotinprodukte wird Raucher vom Umstieg abhalten und sie eher zum Rauchen zur\u00fcckf\u00fchren.<\/i><\/p>\n

\u201cInternationale Studien belegen, dass eine Erh\u00f6hung der Steuern auf E-Zigaretten und E-Liquids stets zu einem Anstieg des Rauchens gef\u00fchrt hat, insbesondere bei jungen Erwachsenen und einkommensschwachen Bev\u00f6lkerungsgruppen.\u201c.<\/i><\/p>\n
